Shogun: "I'm sure that I won. They gave him the victory because of other interests."

owned! i agree 100% with Rua!!!!! i don't know who 'they' is though? i hope he realized the UFC and state judging have nothing to do with each other.

Quote:
"It was a tough fight. I knew that Lyoto was good, but I could put my rhythm on. I'm sure that I won. Everybody thinks that I won. I talked with a lot of people here and they thought that I won, but unfortunately I think that they gave him the victory because some interests. Everyone was surprised with what happened in the end, but what can I do? In my point of view, being fair, I won four rounds. People thought the same - Dana White, Lorenzo [Fertitta], Rickson Gracie was beside us... Everyone gave me the victory." - Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
Just 25 minutes after UFC 104, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua went back to his hotel room to review his controversial loss to defending champion Lyoto Machida. Rua caught up with Tatame.com and expressed his conflicting views of the decision and thinks that he definitely won four rounds.
Rua is not the only person to see error in the judges decision, as UFC President Dana White admitted to poor judging and even agreed to schedule an immediate rematch at the post-fight press conference.

So Shogun understands judging and the separation of promoters and athletic commissions about as well as the average fan. Not surprising.

I'm not sure what he meant by "they" unless he has been reading some of the conspiracy theories floating around here.

Agree Shogun though.

Actually, What happens if Rua wins a decision in the next fight even if everyone scores it in Machida's favour? Does that mean there'll be a 3rd fight?!

They should just let Machida's dad, Anderson and Wanderlei Silva judge the next one, i think all 3s integrity is beyond reproach and im very interested to see what Anderson is gonna say about the fight, how much truth, how much friendship, is he blinded by his friendship and sees it as a clear Machida victory?? Dad too?? Is Wandy pissed that his boy got snubbed?? Does he think Machida won?? Either way, make it happen ;P

Then they have another fight, but do endless rounds until someone is knocked out.
