I partially agree, the harder workers and the exciting fighters get paid more. Joslin got $3,000 and that sucks, but now that everyone knows how good he is it'll reflect his pay the next time he's invited back. To put it in an oppinionated perspective, it's the same as being a salesman and making commision. Each fight is a sale, you impress someone with the first sale, you charge more the next time.

if these people are contracted ONLY for the UFC then maybe 10k for a fight isnt great. But if they have the chance to fight else where then 5K isnt bad for loseing IMO.

In the UFC you may get 5 fights (per annum), so a min of say 40k. If your NOT contracted and you get 5k for a fight, as long as your not damaged the training your doing will help you destroy someone on KOTC etc and win another 3k easily. So thats 8k in 3 months. Thats 36K in a year. Not bad being as your skill is "hitting people" and lets be honest, your not even the best at that!!!!!!!!!

(and yes im expecting a little flame for this)

I think you should get paid by the round or minute or something. Riggs and Diego making that much money for about 1 minute of actual fighting, meanwhile Joslin and others make diddly-squat for fighting tough 3-5 round battles. You should get paid by how long you are in the ring, or how you end the fight. Not your name.

but a long boring fight qould make the fighters a LOT. Yet a great KO or submission would make very little so that idea is flawed.

damn...good point. I dunno, I just think they should make it a little more fair and have your paycheck proportional to your actual performance and level of talent.

well in the ideal world yes, but if you've had 3 fights in the UFC, a win, a loss and a close loss (maybe decision) why should a n00b get paid the same as you being as you've already proved yourself?

IMO UFC is a job, unless you have proved yourself you dont deserve the (big/ bigish) money.

If they are, then they should be kicked in the nuts for being so ignorant. I don't care if anyone whines, it is amusing because in reailty nobody on here knows shit about Dana White or how much these guys should be getting paid. If it really was that bad, these guys would not be doing it.
1) I don't feel bad for the fighters
2) I'm only talking about simple mathematics
3) It's my opinion and I'm entitled to it.
4) Look at any other efficently run professional sport and see if a loser in any match, game, or bout makes anything close to what the winner makes (Please don't even bring up boxing, that's a joke too). The 'STRUCTURE" of the payouts sucks, and yes $3000 for a PRO MMA fighter is absolutely fukin' pathetic.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
