There is NO reason for the UFC to make any concessions to M-1 at ALL.
First of all, Fedor and Mousasi just don’t draw any fans. They were co-headliners on a NETWORK aired fight and they could not even draw what a single fight on spike TV between a semi-talented fighter and a guy who cant fight at all. What do they bring to the table?
Second, Nevada State Gamming Commission has an opinion on M-1 and said there could be possible issues with the Fratitas gamming license if they do business with the owners of M-1.
Third, Fedor is crazy expensive. He offers very little return on investment. Sure, hardcore fans (of which I am one) will buy a PPV to see him fight, but we were going to do so anyway!
Forth, promoting a competitor is just crazy for any business to do that is the largest market share. Co-Promotions are normally only done when companies are trying to break into a market and pick up a bit of market share, or if the market is new and they are trying to get the product maximum exposure. The UFC has the lions share of the market, there is no reason to give any part of that to a competitor.
Lastly, while I would love to see Fedor fight in the UFC, I just don’t think he ever will. There are too many things fighting against it. Fedor is the best HW in the world, but sadly he will never get to prove it on the biggest stage!
