"People say and do things with the adrenaline flowing that maybe they just wouldn't say or do under other circumstances, like this. To my knowledge, Carwin hated the antics of Brock simply because he felt as if it was an insult to the sport and nature of mma. That translates into the dude has respect, period. To degrade or downplay what he said is hypocrisy in my mind. Just to reiterate, NO ONE has to come out and say anythind in regards to what they think about Brock's situation, but he did. Good stuff Carwin!!!"

Why is it hypocritcal if we downgrade what he said? Failing to see your logic here.
Yes, no one has to come out and say anything, because it's pretty damn obvious everyone feels the same way as Carwin. Sometimes you should as a Human being just be expected to show compassion for another Human being. I think the point people are making, is that Carwin could be accused of sort of putting his own spin on the situation and trying to gain a few fans and a decent image from it. I'm sure 99% of fighters/fans anyone who knows anything about Brock, don't want to see Brock lose his title, his job; possibly his life and leave his family without a husband and father, but then there is also the common sense where people don't feel the need to come out and say it.

I probably was being sarcastic in the above post. I think you should flame me for it.

The hypocrisy is similar to that if someone was fasting and than complained about being hungry. Just an opinion of some of the postings and remarks in regards to the entire situation. As far as Carwin trying to get kudos and gain some more fan base, I don't think he would need to do that. I agree with your statement on humanity. I was simply giving props top Carwin for being both respectful of the sport and nature of mma, as well as being a decent human being.

Wasn't Carwin the one saying that if he were in Lesnar's position, he'd go into the fight anyway? Wasn't he just saying this a few weeks ago when all we knew was that he was "sick"?

Hit the nail on the head, Carwin is an engineer, he is not stupid by any means. In my OPINION if he truly felt compassion, he would have sent an e-mail or called Brock to say it and not release it in this format. At the very least because he thought that people may assume he isn't 100% sincere considering he's been slating Brock and his whole career including his UFC and WWE performances, not less than a month ago. I am not saying that he is just doing this for public appeal, I'm saying that it just doesn't seem very like Carwin to do this.

Did anyone expect different from Carwin? He's always not liked Brock, but never been the kind of guy to be a disgusting human being.

He also made the 'I'd fight anyway' comments when the illness was just mono. Since the intestinal surgery he's been showing sympathy.

And who's to say he hasn't called or emailed Brock to wish him a speedy recovery? You can't, so don't.

Yes he slated Brock before, so what? When shit gets serious and it's not just words anymore he stopped and wished the man healthy. I fail to see the problem.

Carwins a classy guy, and not the only MMA fighter to of bashed Brock. Doesn't mean they wish him dead.

First off he said HE would've showed for the fight no matter what, even in a wheel barrel.
Second he didn't post it on here someone else took his comments from being asked a question and posted it on here. Call it what you want he's a good ambassador for the sport.

I have no doubt that Carwin truly feels some of the things he said about Brock, but I'm also 100% sure a lot of it was to hype a fight, and to put a face to his name.
That's on hold for now, so the man is stepping out of that charachter and showing concern for a fellow human being. I don't think it's hypocritical, or somehow BS... I think, even if just for the moment, Carwin understands there is a bigger picture here than the UFC HW title.
And I for one respect him for that.

Something also tells me. When Brock comes back, god willing, their fight will have a very different aura around it.

Who was saying horrible things about Brock, anyway? I think most of the responses I've seen have been about how horrible it is that he's sick.

I'm confused about what should happen with an interim title and so on, but I'm definitely on board with wishing Brock a quick and complete recovery.

This is the worst thing to happen in MMA since Evan Tanner's death.
