Why Karo!? why! that sucks i was excited for this match and was hoping he got his shit together i guess not....im assuming his anxiety hit him and freaked out
damn that sucks. I was looking forward to his fight since he is fun to watch and one of the few solid judo guys. can't wait to hear his excuses and the actual reason why
He has fought four times in the past three years. The only eventful thing to happen was him doing one cool throw on Josh Burkman. :| Oh and him testing positive for painkillers. Who gives a flying ****. Good riddance to the very boring, no cardio, smack talking tool.
exactly.awesome judo throws but no power to finish, no cardio, standup is mediocre at best but loves to run his mouth like he has championship gold around it. how bad is strikeforce gonna look when he beats shields for the belt?
Really annoyed about this news. Was backing Hazelett-Parisyan to be FOTN. Dana sounds pissed, and rightly so. Pulling out of a fight 1 day before the weigh-ins is just ridiculous. Really takes some of the appeal away from the 106 card for me now. Looked quite good with this fight on there, now we're stuck with 4 fights, and one of them (Sadollah-Baroni) shouldn't be near the Main Card.
ROFL. Just checked his Wikipedia page, and it says this:
"Karo is no longer scheduled to fight at UFC 106 for being a little ***** bitch"
Karo “The Heat” Parisyan is out of UFC 106 after failing to acquire a license in Nevada, according to Parisyan, due to not having the money to pay his fine from previously being suspended after testing positive for a three different pain killers following his UFC 94 bout with Kim Dong-hyun.
“There’s a lot of problems going on. They won’t re-license me unless I (expletive) pay them,” Parisyan told MMAWeekly.com. “I had to pay the $32,000 fine in order to fight. I never paid because I never had the money. I don’t know if I’ll be able to come back.
Goddamnit Karo what is your deal? Get your shit together man what a waste of talent this guy is. I want to know why!!!
EDIT: ok just read that article and that sucks. If that's the only reason why then I feel real bad for Karo. I thought he was having a mental breakdown or something but I can't be mad at him just for not having an extra $32,000 lying around for him to spend.
Wouldn't you think that the UFC would get that $32,000 fine situation taken care of before they sealed the deal and make the matchup and fight date final? I think there is something else.

wow, $32,000, how can they even expected him to pay that? thats messed up if you ask me, no one in MMA deserves a fine of that magnitude i dont care what they have done. They must think fighters get paid millions in this sport.
I hate this misconception. Yea he had painkillers in his system. First of all you're not going to be able to fight very well if you're actually ON the painkillers during the fight. Secondly it's not a performance enhancing drug so why would he get fined so harshly? He took pain killers because he had a legitimate reason too, he just didn't notify the commission that he was prescribed to them. He didn't cheat by any means. He made a dumb mistake.
If that's the reason, then I think it's fair enough, but I'm sure if he told Dana and the UFC that that was the reason then Dana wouldn't have reacted like he has. I'm guessing he's been using various excuses, or just not told the UFC why he's pulled out.
Karo Parisyan has withdrawn from his UFC 106 bout against Dustin Hazelett, according to UFC President Dana White.
In his first Twitter message, White wrote that “Karo Parisyan has f---ed over the UFC, the fans and his opponent again!!! He will not be fighting saturday or ever again in the UFC!!”
In a second message, White stated that Parisyan “Pulled out of the fight the day before weigh ins again with a laundry list of excuses!!! Let the press ask karo why! Let him explain.”
“Let him say what he wants,” Parisyan texted to Sherdog.com before declining further comment.
NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer told Sherdog.com Thursday that Parisyan had already been fully licensed last January and was cleared to fight this Saturday. Kizer said Parisyan had not been required to take a pre-fight drug test for the painkillers he had been flagged for in January, as they would be tested the night of the bout.
Parisyan had contacted Kizer a few weeks ago to discuss a “nagging, lingering injury,” Kizer said, and asked what proper medications he could take prior to the bout. Kizer said he instructed Parisyan that Tylenol and icing was the safest method, but encouraged the fighter to have his physician send in a letter stating his injuries and what medications he was taking for it, so the NSAC doctor could work with him.
Kizer spoke again with Parisyan within the last week to discuss a payment plan for the $32,000 fine the fighter had previously accrued. Kizer said that NSAC Chairman Pat Lundvall had agreed to disperse payment for the fine out of the fighter's show and win purse for this weekend.
“We knew (Parisyan) was having some financial difficulties and wanted to try and help him,” Kizer told Sherdog.com.
It was agreed that $16,000 would be deducted from each purse and in the case of a loss, Parisyan would make further arrangements to settle up the remaining balance. Kizer said Parisyan seemed pleased with the arrangement.
The welterweight contest between Parisyan and Hazelett was scheduled for the UFC 106 main card. White said on Twitter that Hazelett will be paid his show and win purses.
Had nothing to do with the fine apparently, the dude is obviously addicted to painkillers, in his last fight he got caught with THREE DIFFERENT TYPES of illegal painkillers in his system, doctors don't prescribe three different painkillers for people with sore backs, lol.
He may be addicted to them, but I don't understand how you came to that conclusion with this article.
Also if I remember right it was 3 illegal substances but it only equated to 2 types of painkillers. And it was also way more than just a sore back. His leg was really fucked up. You could tell by looking at it he was missing a good portion of his muscles on one leg.
