well your watching an analog signal that hasnt been upgraded in more years then my age... im sure every show/channel will eventually be showed in HD, espicially since plasmas/lcds are getting alot cheaper... technology always upgrades and knocks off the older techonology, like say VHS to DVD, they stopped making VHS of new movies awhile ago now.... another example would be casette tapes to CD's

All major TV channels have upgraded to HD... Fox, A&E, CBC, NBC, GLobal, TSN, Discovery and even lower end channels like Showcase (canadian channel) now have an HD channel, so it can't be too long before Spike jumps on the bandwagon..

I just bought a 42" panasonic plasma and there are 2 HD Pay Per View Channels, so that answers that question, I can only pray that the event will be on one of those channels, which it prob wont

Wow, all this HD hype. UFC would be stupid to push for these channels to have HD. You would be ignorant to even think they would look like more of a legit sport just because it was shown in HD. It will in time, but right now, nothing that is HD is taken any more serious than sports not shown in HD. So the argument made that it is fact is really as dumb as the whole thread. If you really think that is what UFC needs to be taken serious, then you must have just started watching, because in the past few years, UFC is taken more and more seriously in the main stream. With or without HD.

You may not be a HD fan but there are many out there that outnumber you that would pay the extra whatever to watch it in HD. It's not like you would be forced to watch it in HD, it would be an option. He's asking for the option. If you don't have an HD television then I guess it wouldn't concern you.

I don't see why an option to watch it in HD is such a big deal to some people.

Can I ask you something ROCKBASS? I don't mean to sound like a ****, I don't have any grudge against you my fellow Ohioan. But do you happen to work for a cable company or something? It seems like you always get upset when the topic of PPVs get brought up. Just wondering.

I dont think it would make it more legit, but it would certainly help the cause. I have been watching and it has been growing quite a bit, but this is just the next step, like ive said before all the other major sports are broadcast in HD and like it or not it would help draw in new fans, I dont know why you would be so determined against HD, unless ur just jealous(j.k) All other sports that are in HD are also broadcast in regular def and you don't hafta use the HD but for those of us with tvs with HD capability it makes the viewing experience sooooo much better

No I don't work for Cable......I don't even have cable, I switched to Directv because it was cheaper and better for me. and yes I have HD TV 42 inch plasma

My only problem with the PPV's are the guys who come online and will whine about the PPV fights, when they don't even buy them, they just watch on the net. If you don't pay for it, you really have no room to complain because it didn't cost anything. Not saying anyone on this thread does that though.

With this post, my problem was the comment that if the UFC wants to be taken more serious, they need to go to HD. HD does not make you look more serious. I love the picture as do most others, but I am not going to say it needs to be in HD to be taken seriously. Yes, the option would be great, but not needed.

This is the quote I was referring to. You said it needed to be done......

If you judge how serious a show is on whether or not it is HD, then sorry for ya. HD would be great, but it is not needed. It wasn't long ago that there was no HD. Now it is here, and getting bigger and bigger. None of the other sports on TV were taken more serious because of it, so neither will UFC. It will be an added bonus to the high cost of TV's.
