I can't halp but think the fight would go to GSP. He turned a corner when he beat Hughes. Did you see the way he just pressed, and pressed, and pressed the action to Hughes. Matt didn't know what to do, he got taken out of his element. As a fighter you are tought to dictate the composure of the fight to your opponant. To control the tempo and stride of their footwork, and positioning. THAT is what GSP did in that fight that I haven't seen him do before . . . control the fight, he put Hughes where he wanted him. Before that all I saw were his physical abilities. Controlling the fight the way that he did shows that he turned a MENTAL corner as a fighter. He is no longer going to lose his composure, and rest on his immense physical fortunes, he will rather, use those abilities with his cunning and become complete. Hughes only did so after a castrating defeat to BJ Penn, until then he was pretty much a straight wrestler. In reaching this point when GSP still has his physical abilities and reaction time at 100%, GSP becomes poised to retain this title for many years. Sanchez is an amazing fighter, but I don't see that aplicable knowledge that I see in GSP.

But to be fair, THAT was what GSP lacked before, picking Matt Hughes to pieces.

It was a well fought fight between Hughes and GSP. But dont expect the title to be out of Matt's hands for very long, hes not taking the fact that he isnt the champ for once very well. I think that once hes determined to have reign on that title again, no ones going to stop him.

He'll definitely come back stronger. I expect more than a two round fight from him. But if he looses against GSP one more time it's a wrap for good old Matt.
