Diego can't win this fight yet, they should have gave him hughes. Time for Diego to say hello to his first loss. I hope GSP trains as hard as he did for Matt Hughes because Diego is one clever driven fighter.

I remember people saying time for Diegos first loss in almost every fight he has had in the UFC. It will be a tough fight for Diego and he has a shot at winning. I honestly don't know who to go for.
I remember when people thought Nick Diaz was going to beat Diego.

I remember when people thought Karo was going to beat Diego.

I remember when *some* people thought Riggs was going to KO Diego.

Ah, nothing like under-estimating a good fighter. I do, however, think GSP is the worst possible matchup for Diego Sanchez. GSP is better at striking, has great TD defense, and is better at bullying people around the Octagon. This will be a complete war though, and will go the full 5 rounds. I honestly don't see GSP finishing Diego, because that sadistic bastard has insane cardio, and has shown to never quit.

I just watched a dana white interview from last week and he said that GSP will fight hughes at 69 in montreal.

He said Diego's next in line but he says hughes will fight there unless he doesn't want to and since hughes is out hunting right now no one can get ahold of him. So really i find it hard that a rumor like this can be really...fact related.

Diego definetly deserves a title shot, he has beaten quality fighters in Diaz, Karo and Riggs. Hughes, BJ and GSP have already fought eachother, Diego is worthy of a shot. Give Hughes the winner of GSP/Diego.

He is more desrving then Nate Quarry or Ken Florian was.

I think GSP should win, but would not be surprised if diego catches GSP in a sub, IMO.

If Sanchez does get St. Pierre next, this will be a bad match-up for him. I don't even believe he thinks he is ready to fight St. Pierre, yet (he hinted this in his post-fight interview).

If Sanchez had gotten past Hughes, I would definitely see him as a major threat to St. Pierre but now I think Sanchez is going to get beat down.

The fight will be a war, but I'm confident St. Pierre wins this ... hopefully Sanchez does not make the mistake that Hughes made.

Why should Diego have to fight Karo again, he has already beaten him, you shouldn't have to have a rematch with someone you beat already before you get a title shot. As far as fighting Hughes or Penn, Penn is going lightweight right now, so that is out of the question and Hughes said he wanted to fight someone else before GSP so that could happen. I just wanna know who they will throw at Hughes if they go ahead and give Diego a title shot. I will never understand how some people can just rule out another fighter like they are Diego and even Serra. It's a fight, a real fight, not WWE or anything like that. Anything can happen. When it comes to a fighter like Diego, what has he done to make you think he doesn't have a shot at all at beating GSP or even Hughes. I think when Diego goes up against either Hughes or GSP it will go all the way to decision. Nobody should count out Diego so fast, he has shown that.

i still think Karo won 2 round and he lost last round vs Diego
Diego beat Karo without question!!Im so sick of Diego haters saying he lost that fight.
mmaweekly is right 95% of the time, so I believe this fight should and will happen. Diego deserves a title shot without question. I think GSP is a bad matchup but Diego is a scrappy dude and will put on a good show. I think GSP will be too much and probably win a unanimous decision. But Diego has a chance. Id give him a 25% chance.

Does Diego deserve a title shot? Definitely
Can he beat GSP? Not likely, but he can
Would he beat GSP? No

Still, I hope this fight happens as it would be a good experience for Diego. GSP could pick Diego appart and expose weaknesses that other fighters couldn't. Hopefully this would keep Diego's ego in check and get him to train harder and round out his game better. A loss to GSP (In my opinion) would be a great learning experience for Diego and make him a better fighter in the long run.

Diego is ready for this fight and I believe he has the best shot at GSP. Others have already said it, don't count Diego out. I will go a step further, Diego has the mental advantage in this fight. Diego intimidated by GSP, Puuuuleaz. Diego thinks he is the best fighter in the world. I cannot wait for him to stare down GSP. And yes GSP is a bad matchup for Diego, guess what? GSP is a bad matchup for everyone at 170. Diego is just as bad a matchup for GSP. I see this coming down to discipline, who is going to land the first counterpunch and then capitalize. I know I am in the minority but I say this one could go either way but I think it can and I hope Diego wins. He can, make no mistake about that and he has more then a small chance.

I am pretty sure that Diego knows he is not ready for GSP or else he would have called him out instead of Hughes. He knows he is ready for Hughes and definetly has the skills to beat him. Yes GSP is a bad matchup for everyone in their division because he is so well rounded. Definetly right now Diego has the best chance at beating him. I really wanted to see Diego fight Hughes first, and Hughes does want a fight before he goes for the belt again. But if Diego is getting the title fight at 69 he is in for a war and the Canadian crowd is definetly not going to be on his side. Either way I think it will be an awesome fight.

Smells like GSP defends belt vs Serra, GSP defends belt vs Sanchez, GSP defends belt vs HUghes for the 2nd time...and bam, GSP already has 3 title defenses and it's already august.

If I were GSP, I would be looking to beat koscheck/Fitch and defend vs Penn. If he successfully did that he should seriously consider moving up to 185 and taking down Anderson Silva. Is that going to happen? I don't thnk so. I don't think GSP is ever goign to beat anderson silva, but the point of any career is to strive to leave your mark and accomplish the most you can, and I'm just sayin...I think that's what GSP should be lookin at.

Or he could be liek bhop and attempt to defend his WW title for the next 5-6 years.
