why no awesome kickers in the ufc??

when you watch them train they kick alot... but when they fight their kicks either look gay or just not powerful.. not trying to say pride is better but saying pride fighters utilize the kicks better...

i can't think of one person in the UFC whos' known to have a badass kick... sure some got ko'd by a kick but its not that spectacular.. i would say GSP is the only one..

the ufc fighters seem to underestimate the power of a dam kick.

I agree, I believe that kicks are highly underutilized in the UFC.

Everyone is so focused on getting that KO punch that they don't realize how effective kicks can be.

Lidelle used to kick more but alot of the guys in the UFC are afraid to go to wild with the kicks because they dont want to get taken down. Also alot of the fighters in the ufc arent skilled strikers alot of them are graplers or ground and pounders so they are only use enough striking till it goes down to the ground.

Really because of the skill level of their kicks I wouldnt use them much either. Alot of the guys in the UFC dont have a fast enough recoil to their kicks so I guess when they throw them in sparring practices they get taken down so they through them out there when the occasion suits them.

Perfectly said. Many fighters in the UFC are also not very skilled with the legs. Everyone relies on takedowns But you can see what happens when a good striker who can throw hands, knees and feet can do(A. Silva) This is also makes me think very highly of Brandon Vera. The guy has it all, way better stand-up than most in the UFC not to mention great ground skills. We will see alot less wrestling around when more guys learn the stand-up game a bit better more importantly how to use their legs
