I'm not very familiar with basketball subtleties or how this change affected the sport, so I can't comment, but I'll still say that the way the UFC runs its show affects MMA on a much larger scale than the NBA affects the sport of basketball. Mostly because of its smaller fanbase and the lack of any syndicate to somewhat regulate their internal politics. I am aware that such a syndicate will probably never be created, but it's nice to dream.

Tito getting his cut win-or-lose is boxing bullshit. Those fu*kers get paid even if they turn up looking like shit and get knocked out first 5 seconds.

Load of cobblers.

all sports are televison's bitches. they'll do anything to get that cash. look at the start times for world series games, who does it help to have games ending at 1:00 am? certainly not the fans. who does starting football games at 8:30 or 9:00 on a weeknight help? certainly not the fans. especially if the the game was originally scheduled as a day game then moved to night because of "ratings". all sports are a business, all the owners and commissioner's care about is making money and growing the business. fans are suckers who keep paying more and more for a watered down product.

It gets me a little annoyed how much some of them get paid for losing. One example is how forrest got a 70,000 dollar bonus for fight of the night against Anderson Silva. REALLY? He gets kod in 3 minutes and gets paid 70,000 for it? On the other hand, the ufc is a business. They care much more about people shelling out 45 per ppv than what they do for the sport of mma.

Yep...Anderson Silva who is arguably one of the greatest in MMA history doesn't draw to the likes of Tito, Chuck, or Brock which is unfortunate.

It's a bit of a dual edge sword.

UFC makes money from the entertainment industry. So the more entertaining a fighter the more he's going to get, it's that smply.

Tito fights for some reason always generates alot of hype and is very marketable so he gets a sum of the money from what he creates.

I think there is more than money behind why Dan doesnt want to fight in the ufc. Cause lets face it, the UFC are gonna be offering more than what Strikeforce can offer him, so if its just that he wants the most amount of money then the UFC will win that battle over any other organization.
