O my god! Biggest fight news ever.....

UFC 110: Elvis Sinosic returns to face Chris Haseman on Feb. 21 in Sydney

Quote:
Seven-fight UFC veteran Elvis Sinosic (8-11-2) will return to the Octagon to compete in front of his hometown crowd in Sydney, Australia, when he tackles fellow countryman Chris Haseman (20-16) at UFC 110 from the Acer Arena on Feb. 21 according to a report from the Brisbane Times.

Sinosic will attempt to avenge a 1997 loss to Haseman after "The Hammer" submitted "The King of Rock and Rumble" with the very painful and long since banned "chin to the eye" submission. In fact, it was Haseman's second-straight win using the modified eye gouge during the Caged Combat tournament-style event over ten years ago in Sydney.

Despite having 36 professional fights, Haseman has only competed three times since 2002, most recently at the Fight World Cup in Queensland, not coincidentally titled "Return of the Hammer." The Aussie knocked out Japanese tuna can Yuji "The Pink Typhoon" Hisamatsu just 18 seconds into the fight.

He will presumably look for a similar ending against Sinosic with Australian bragging rights on the line.

Star-divide

The one-time Australian Vale Tudo Heavyweight Champion hasn't seen the Octagon since a 2007 loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 70: "Nations Collide" in Manchester. He competed just one time following the loss later that year, falling to Paul Cahoon at Cage Rage 24 in London.

Sinosic may be just 1-6 under the Zuffa banner, but his Australian roots will likely elevate the hometown interest. The same too can be said for Haseman and any other Australian fighters that are pegged to compete on the upcoming card.

UFC 110 is expected to feature a main event between Michael Bisping and Wanderlei Silva in a bout that may have future title implications (especially with Dan Henderson being MIA). Welterweight scrappers Chris Lytle and Dong Hyun Kim are also scheduled to hook 'em up.

That's right chaps. The man with the worst UFC record ever in the whole wide UFC is back. Elvis Sinosic. Rock and roll baby!

To quote Dana, "We put together the fights the fans want to see."

I imagine Haseman's deal is a one-off, as well. Dude has won just two of his last seven. But yeah, it is good marketing.

And who knows? It may turn out to be a good fight.

Even tho this fight wont have any kind of implications on the division i'm curious to know in which weight class will it happen. It might end up being a fun fight too.
