The “Savage Dog Show” has a nice interview with UFC welterweight Diego Sanchez (17-0).
It delves into his victory over Joe Riggs (25-9) at UFC Fight Night at Miramar and what it means for the future of the 170-pound division.
Of course, the discussion snowballs into a possible championship fight with Georges St. Pierre (13-1) on April 7 at UFC 69. And, Diego sounds pumped at the prospect of getting a title shot in the next few months.
Greg Savage also more or less confirms that Matt Hughes (40-5) will fight at UFC 68 on March 3 in Columbus, Ohio, possibly against Karo Parisyan (16-4).
He also mentions that either Chris Leben (16-2) or Jason Macdonald (17-7) — who are fighting one another at UFC 66 — will face off against former 185-pound champion Rich Franklin (20-2) that same night.
This is great news if and when it is confirmed by the UFC. By all accounts, it seems like St. Pierre-Sanchez is a done deal for UFC 69.
And Hughes-Parisyan for at UFC 68?
These cards just keep getting better and better.
Update: MMAWeekly.com now has now added Matt Hughes and Karo Parisyan to the upcoming UFC 68 fight card. The site has not confirmed that they will fight one another, however.

This is shaping up to be a great weekend in Columbus, Ohio. If you don't know, March 2-4 is also the Arnold Classic in Columbus featuring everything from Table Tennis to Sumo Wrestling. I am hoping to compete in the Amateur Boxing. My coach doesn't seem to think that I am skilled enough yet but I will press the issue. Hopefully my girlfriend will buy us tickets to UFC 68 for my B-day.

I officially withdraw my earlier statements. I thought for SURE they would throw Diego at Hughes or Penn before getting to GSP, but I guess I was wrong, and so were a lot of us.
Would have been a smart idea though, Diego still isn't ready for GSP. He hasn't fought someone even close to that fast.

Wait, is it offcial that Diego gets a shot at GSP? I havent read anything official or at least I dont remember reading about it in any of the forums. How can they possibly allow Diego to get a fight with GSP already?
