No fighter should ever start thinking opponents are "easy". This is what will lead to a fighter being dropped on the canvas.

If you go into a fight thinking its gonna be easy, you are bound to lose. That said, I don't think they will cut him just yet, still provides a solid opponent for MW's on the rise.

A very silly idea to think that anybody is going to be easy. Ben Saunders was swept aside by Mike Swick in his last fight but he still has that clinch and those deadly knees which can send you to sleep. And that's just what happened.

I don't know what to think of Marcus Davis. Before and after the Dan Hardy fight I thought he was a douche, then a week for the fight with Saunders I heard an interview with him on MMA Junkie Radio and he actually sounded like a pretty likeable guy. Then he says something like this after the fight.

He won't get cut. He is still exciting to watch even if he is coming off two losses. And isn't the UFC doing an event near his home town in 2010? He would be a big draw.

Favourite Fighters:

Dan Hardy
Paul Daley
Georges St-Pierre
Nick Diaz
Cain Velasquez
Frank Mir
Demian Maia
All the British MMA guys
And... Fedor!

Why is he good for UK shows?

I have no idea why that comment was made - he's not even f**king Irish!

He has nothing to do with the UK at all. We have enough british fighters, just because Davis isn't a top american fighter he's trying to be a top UK fighter?

The guy wears a kilt (scottish) on the way to the ring. What a numpty

Big Thanks to KryOnicle for the sig!

This is why you can never over-look an opponent. He deserved the beating he took for taking Saunders so lightly. After this and acting like a baby after the Hardy loss, I'm quickly losing any respect I had for him.

I like Davis - the dude always shows up ready to fight. I think that he'll bounce back from this fight a better fighter and won't overlook an opponent in the future. While his gameplan obviously didn't work out, I can see why he thought that way. What fighter doesn't think he can beat the other guy? Was he overconfident in how easy he thought the W would be? Yes. Hopefully he won't repeat that mistake.

Also, from a promoter stand point, I think that he is good for the UFN & UK shows. The guy has a name in the UK (at least it appears that way to me from the USA), because he can be the "bad guy" to the UK fighters. Who in the UK didn't want to see what Hardy was going to do to him?

I like the guy, and I think he's a great gatekeepr and/or exciting fighter to give the fans for a FOTN or KOOTN on a free card.

My favorite fighters of all time:

Randy Couture
Ken Shamrock
Rickson Gracie
Matt Hughes
Rampage Jackson
Chuck Liddell
Fedor Emelianenko

Take a look at the pattern of Marcus Davis' Kilt

He wears the "Braveheart Tartan" which is a traditional SCOTTISH tartan.

Irish Tartan Kilts are a 20CE invention for American Tourists they have nothing to do with Irish Tradition.

Traditionaly the Irish 'Celts' would of worn the Lein-croich.
