Anybody here ever gone to a live UFC event?

I'm just asking this question because i live in australia and ufc 110 is coming to sydney in 2010...i have been a UFC fan since about UFC 25 and nothing but a tidal wave with a hurricane, or ludicrous ticket prices, will keep me away.

i tried to research prices but i couldnt find anything definitive - are tickets diff prices for every event?

anyway my two main questions are -

how much are tickets, or could you link me to a page?

and more importantly, how important is where you sit? If you sit way at the back do you just end up watching the big screen? how close do you have to be to get a decent view of the actual fight? and how much are the tickets for both situations?

obviously the answers wont be fully quantitative, but any sort of estimates or roundabout answers would be great. I'll be bringing my girl and probably driving for a day or two to get there, so any/all information would be very much appreciated.

thanks in advance guys.

Ive never been to a UFC event. I have however been and watched Cage Rage (an english mma promotion) at earls court here in the uk. I paid £75 for my ticket which got me a mediocre seat. From my experience you would have to be near enough ringside to get a proper view. I was sitting reasonably close yet chose to view the big screen as you cant really see much from the stands. You cant really tell if punches land, nor can you see the intricasies of submission grappling (other than full on, blatent arm bars. Interesting side note, a guy got his arm broken yet still fought on to win a decision that night). Anyway, I personally preffered a UFC broadcast any day, it costs a fraction of the price and you get a much better view of the fight. Saying that if it was a UFC event I would have had the bonus of seeing some of my favourite fighters, which would have been awesome.

Heres a short answer, it really is the closer the better, I would reconmend as close to ring side as you can afford.

I went to UFC 103 in Dallas and I paid $100 for upper deck seats. I did not think it was to bad a seat with all the big screens around. Then I went downstairs after the event and it looked so much better. I will pay the extra to sit in the bottom bowl next time for the better view. It will be worth it to me. Anywhere on the bottom floor or sections will cost probably $250-350. Try to make everyone you can with you, we had a group and it was F***ing crazy and the place goes crazy when a knockout is happening.

I went to the first affliction event, and personally, I prefer watching it at home for pretty much everything except for atmosphere.

Not to be a debbie downer here, but the beer was way too expensive ($9 per beer), the view wasn't as good as it is at home with multiple camera angles, and the retarded booing fans were far more infuriating in person.

On a side note, my boss's brother is the head security guy for Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. He got my boss 3 $500 tickets to Griffen vs. Ortiz, and has since told us that he can get us $1000 tickets for pretty much all the events.

I'm pretty excited at the idea of seeing my first UFC event live.

It is great to go to once and every fan should. My brother and I went to 77 in Cincinnati and had a blast, but you really can't see anything. You end up watching it on the bigscreen anyway. It is worth going just to feel the vibe of the place though. I would love to go to another someday.

Check to get some tickets....

Thanks to Toxic for the Awesome Sig!

Even if the whole world is against you, one thing will never let you down. That thing is beer.

Went to UFC 75 in Newark tickets were 250 for mid tier. Went to UFC 101 in Philly tickets were 600 for floor. 75 sucked 101 was great. Definetely going to UFC 111 in Newark and would do floor again to watch GSP beat down Hardy up close.

Yeah I went to UFC 101 in Philly and it was great the atmosphere is crazy esp. during the fighter walk ins and during a knock out or great fight. I remember sitting there when the lights went out for Silva's entrance and the place went crazy same thing for Forrest Penn and Florian. I had decent seats in the first tier but still found myself watching the big screens for the little details esp when the fight went to the ground to see submissions being setup and what not.

I think if you have the opportunity to go at least once you should do it. Just for the atmosphere and little things I remember walking around to get some food and running into Matt Riddle and Mark Coleman it was awesome. I cant wait for 111 in Jersey as i plan on being there.

Chances make Champion's....Champion's take chances

I have never been, but plan on going whenever they come close, (please come to MASS!)

I did however check prices for an event when I was in vegas and the only seats that seemed worth it were in the 500+ range. It was also a bj penn fight so that may have jacked up prices.

I just want to experience it at least one time and I will go in knowing that live on TV with commentators, dif angles, replays, etc will be far better so I won't be disappointed.
