Just going from a historical standpoint here...
Fedor gets eliminated early due to an elbow TKO.
Wanderlei replaces him and beats Brock Lesnar by knees.
Wanderlei is then KO'd by Henderson, who is then KO'd by Shogun.
Machida beats Thiago Silva by KO (I'm going to say, maybe late round 1?), Shogun then beats Machida in a close decision.
JDS and Silva get scheduled to fight but are brazillian training partners, they refuse and JDS is booted from the tournament. Silva then KO's a redhaired midget in an alley somewhere and immediately advances to the finals.
Mousasi then procedes to KO Shogun and submit Silva, both while laying on his backside to win the tournament.
TOURNAMENT WINNER: Mousasi.

You def get to pick the 8, but GSP is a big WW and could easily fight at 185. To include JD (who is 6' 4" and nearly 240 pounds) in the same group as mousasi is overboard IMO. I'm not sure it makes sense to include someone 30+ pounds heavier (then the 205 class... where most of your picks are from), but not someone 30 pounds lighter.
I like the idea though. I would swap out JD for GSP and someone else for Fedor. Weight plays a HUGE advantage (esp when we are talking 30 pounds) when you compare world class (legends) fighters.
I pick Silva!

I'd imagine seeing Mousasi vs. Fedor in the final match. That would be amazing. Both are stone cold when they fight and they both always look like they just took a nap.
But, I would have to give it to Fedor after seeing them train together a bit.

Match #1) A. Silva vs. T. Silva
A. Silva wins pretty easily.
Match #2) Lyoto Machida vs. J. Dos Santos
Machida evades for two rounds, eats a big shot in round 3 and goes down. JDS via TKO.
Match #3) Fedor vs. Dan Henderson
Fedor gives Hendo his first KO loss.
Match #4) G. Moussasi vs. Shogun Rua
Moussasi gets wrecked, hard.
Silva vs JDS = Silva via TKO.
Fedor vs Rua = Fedor via submission.
Fedor vs Silva = 10 seconds into the first round the gateway to Hell opens up and the Four Horsemen tear through the arena as the spectators flee in a panic. Satan via UD.

Just curious, what makes you think Shogun would wreck Mousasi hard? I know it's mmamath but Shogun did get submitted by Sobral, and Mousasi walked through him. There's probably no one at LHW who'd make Mousasi look bad.
Agreed though except the only way Satan would beat Fedor and Silva at the same time is if it went to the judges and Peoples was judging.

Mousasi didn't look as sharp in his fight against Soko, while Shogun proved that he can gameplan like a pro against Machida. I feel that Shogun is more experienced with higher end competition and that will prove to be his benefactor against Mousasi.

It's an old-style tourney so I'll say that it's pretty much Vale Tudo rules, so Shogun can head-stomp and soccer kick people to his heart's content. Shogun with all of his Pride moves plus the UFC's elbows would be pretty much unstoppable, and only Fedor or Anderson Silva would be able to beat him.
