I have to go with A.Silva here judging by what people say he walks around at like 220lbs(?) so if it's an open tourny he wouldn't be cutting weight i think it would only make him even more of a beast (either that or he would be too heavy and too slow mmamath rulez~!). Suprised Mousasi and Machida have only 1 vote each so far... considering the unbelievable nut huggery they usually recieve on here.

Match #3) Fedor vs. Dan Henderson

Fedor gives Hendo his first KO loss.

Match #4) G. Moussasi vs. Shogun Rua

Moussasi gets wrecked, hard.

Silva vs JDS = Silva via TKO.

Fedor vs Rua = Fedor via submission.

Fedor vs Silva = 10 seconds into the first round the gateway to Hell opens up and the Four Horsemen tear through the arena as the spectators flee in a panic. Satan via UD.
^^
I like most of this, with the exception of JDS over Machida. With the same theory of an open tournament and not having to cut, Machida comes in around 225, so I think he takes JDS only to have to fight Silva, who makes quick work of him with a 1st round TKO. Assuming Satan does not come through the gates of hell, Fedor is caught in a Muay Thai clinch and a barrage of knees follows. Silva wins by TKO (stoppage for cuts).

Fedor, all the way. Until he loses, there is really no reason to assume that one of these guys will be able to beat him.

Also, I'm surprised that you didn't put the current UFC HW champ on an openweight tourny list. I would definitely give Brock a huge shot to take the tourny based solely upon size, strength, and wrestling ability.

I'm more inclined on Silva beating Fedor. Even though I'd be more than happy to see Silva vs Shogun imo.

It would be pretty funny to see that these days.
It'd definitly boost the good fighters records, but also make a lot of people look absolutely terrible.

As far as the poll goes. In a dream world where Fedor is in the UFC I'd almost say he might not win it. The fact is that though he has tremendous punching power, and almost always dominates the fight he's very vulnerable to be cut/injured during the fight. And lets be honest he's not the most fit guy in MMA.

Back to the point. I'd probably give it to Machida.

I voted for Anderson.

In an old-style tournament format, I would tend to bet more heavily on people that are good at avoiding damage.

Would Fedor beat Silva? Probably. But after two fights, I think Silva would be in much better condition. Fedor tends to take a lot of damage, and Silva almost never gets hurt.

Fedor is statistically the least hit fighter in MMA. He also has more 100% accuracy fights than Silva. And we all know Fedor's cardio is endless.
