Sheilds is a world class ground fighter, but STILL an incomplete fighter. If the fight happens in the next 2 years, every credit and dollar I have is going on GSP. Judging on the amount of damage he was able to do to Miller in his last fight, and how close he was to being finished. I would even say a disciplined Mayhem should be able to beat him.
He did nothing to hurt Mayhem except give him a greasy staph infection, and although he controlled on the ground 90% of the fight, never came CLOSE to finishing.
I think we should be able to agree Sheilds won't be able to control GSP on the ground, so what is he going to offer?
I don't even think it would be a decision, GSP has the most underrated GnP in MMA, and I think he would make him quit within 3 rounds.

I am going to save up just in case it happens so I can put even more on GSP!

no disrespect to shields but being mentioned as the best fighter not to have faced gsp in ww isn't saying much... after all the next in line is dan hardy...
tbh, I'd be suprised if shields could beat out alves, fitch or kos not to mention gsp.

Theres a few UFC WW's that would smash Sheilds. GSP wouldn't even have to try.

Shields can't outwrestle GSP, can't outstrike GSP, can't out grapple GSP. Still, Jake's statement may very well be correct, but do I ever dislike the guy.
Really, I want Nick Diaz to bludgeon Sheilds and takes his belt.

If Shields makes a good matchup for GSP, than I guess Mayhem is a much better fighter than given credit. Therefore he should fight Silva on that co-promotion card>>>LOL!!!

I agree with your post, but everyone including the UDC knows that Dan Hardy is not the best WW in the UFC next to GSP. They were just looking for a fresh face for GSP to swell up.
