That's just plain stupid reasoning, at NO point in a fight, would any good fighter let someone sink anything in. ESPECIALLY at the end of a round.

Also, the fact that Miller had it locked in from before the 10 second bell, makes me think that you're really just looking for excuses. Because what you've come up with is ridiculous.
Rewatch the fight, Shields didn't fight that choke AT ALL. He's a world class BJJ practitioner, you think he doesn't know how to reverse the choke? What's the point, he won every other round.

I think Shields should definitely be focusing more on Diaz or, if anything, a fight with Kos/Alves/Fitch. It's like when Couture talks about a shot against Machida or even more implausible, a fight against Mousasi.

I dont think Shields and Diaz will fight, they are long time training partners and good friends (i know, i was just as shocked to learn the either of the Diaz bros has a friend).

They were, but I dont think they train together like Shields and Diaz do. Diaz and Shields have been training together under Caeser Gracie for a very long time. They might fight, but I really doubt it, they are very loyal to there camp.

Shields: I think it is a really interesting fight. Who knows what will happen. I think I have an edge in Jiu-Jitsu, he might have the edge in striking, but letís get out there and see what happens.
Penn and Serra had "an edge" in jitsu too. Shields doesn't have the boxing and KO power of Serra or TDD of Penn and I would be shocked if GSP lost the fight.

I even dare to say that GSP's "mma jitsu" is better than Shields when you take his wrestling into account too. Penn's guard is one of the best if not the best in business and GSP broke it several times on their fight. Shields doesn't have as good guard as Penn and his TDD sucks so we should see GSP kneeing Shields' ribs after about 45 seconds in round 1. :P

I don't think Shields is best of the guys GSP hasn't faced yet. I think both Swick and Hardy would be able to beat Shields.

Penn has great bjj, but he is tiny compared to GSP and was giving up a huge strength advantage. Serra isnt anywhere near Penn or Shields level when it comes to bjj. Neither Penn or Serra are on Shields level when it comes to wrestling (Bj does have some sick tdd though). I agree that GSP could probably get Shields down without to much of a problem, but doing any damage to him is going to be very hard once you get him there. Your talking about one of the better grapplers in the world, not just a black belt, an elite black belt with good wrestling. Once again though, dont get me wrong, GSP would take this fight.

Of course he's the best guy GSP has never faced. Easy thing to say when GSP has beat Hughes(2x), Penn(2x), Koscheck, Paryisan, Fitch, and Alves.

It leaves Shields by cancelling out the rest.

Just to compare fight sheets

Shields - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jake_Shields

GSP - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges_St-Pierre

LOL GSP fought and BEAT Matt Hughes, Kos, Alves, Penn, Sherk, Trigg, Karo, Fitch and all these guys were at they're PRIME!!

Shields also beat Mayhem but lets get real here, GSP KILLLLLEEDDD Mayhem and Shields just laid on him like a little bitch until the fight was over and it could of gone ether way....

I think Hardy has a better chance of beating GSP then Shields. Hardy has a wicked chin and he's going to need it.
comparing shields' resume to gsp's isn't really fair considering gsp probably has the best, if not one of the best resume's in game. okami, condit, sakurai, lawler, thompson, daley, pyle, and miller are all good wins. obviously, not on par with gsp, but i can't think of many fighters with a better resumes than his to begin with.
