Yes, you're right.

But that might change if he faces GSP.

Shields probably is one of the best fighters that GSP hasn't faced.... GSP would still murder him.

I'm not saying Shields would win, but he definitly did not fight his best against Miller. Watch him vs. Robbie Lawler. The guy has deadly subs. He looked uncomfortable against him and then all of a sudden locked on a deadly guillotine. He would certainly beat "top contendor" Hardy. And just incase you didn't know, GSP didn't finish Miller either. Miller is a tough guy. Look it up, UFC 52. But if Shields came out against GSP like he did against Miller, GSP would tko him. I would put my money on ST. Pierre, but crazier things have happened. Nog to the African Assassin, GSP to Serra, and Cro Cop to Gonzaga.

Cro Cop doesnt belong in that equation, he is done, unlike Nog and GSP who would win rematches multiple times vs the African and Serra, Cro Cop would just get kicked in his head again by GG.

I do agree that Shields would likely beat Hardy but not Alves, Fitch or Kos. His stand up is just not good enough and he cant take any of those guys down consistently imo

I never saw somebody who got into so many great submission situaions and didn't even make it to get one going (Not one)! Even through the only thing what got locked in was Miller's sub on Shields. He wouldn't even make it into round 3 or 4 against GSP. This guy get's to many credits and yes also for his ground game! For example if GSP would had got so many great submission spots, he would had sub Miller 5,6 times in that fight, same with Maia.

Shields wouldnt get submitted by GSP...

In a championship 5 round fight this would go to the 4th and GSP would win via TKO

In a 3 round fight GSP would get a decision

Shields is only talkin' Smack because he knows he will NEVER come over to the UFC, and he knows that GSP will never go over to STRIKEFORCE.

Shields is dumb.

I see it going all 5 rounds, then GSP by decision, unless he becomes the first man to submit Shields, which would not surprise me.

I say bring Shields to the UFC, if he can get past Fitch give him a shot.

He won't get past Fitch. The UFC is a whole other level of competition compared to StrikeForce.
