He won't get past Fitch. The UFC is a whole other level of competition compared to StrikeForce.
Yeah, Shields may have a slight technical advantage when it comes to grappling but I really don't see him controlling Fitch.

+Fitch would own him on the feet IMO.

Shields did choke him out in a grappling match, he could probably do it in mma as well.

Grappling and MMA are two different things. Fitch had to go to the ground. In MMA Fitch can use his wrestling to keep it standing and from there he could pick apart Shields.

Fitch's striking isn't really world class, although it is much better than Shields. I don't think Fitch could defend more than 1/3 take downs.

Meh, I highly doubt GSP could submit Shields; a TKO is much more likely. There aren't many fighters in the world who could submit Shields.

If Miller can do it ( and we all know that the clock saved Shields ) then GSP can do it as well.

If Serra can KO GSP anyone can...

If Hughes can submit GSP anyone can...

Do you remember who won that fight against Miller?

I will agree that anything can happen. But ever since Serra KO'd GSP, he hasn't been in trouble again. He sticks to his gameplan better than anyone and he uses what he knows will win fights. He has become such a force since the Serra fight. And he has proven it with his ridiculous run back to the title and defending it as well.

I don't count Shields out as he is a dangerous fighter on the ground. But I still think that GSP would win this fight big time.

Hey now, Hughes is no slouch and at one time was considered the p4p best fighter in the world. Yeah, Hughes did it, but I'm pretty sure no one else in UFC or SF could. And yeah, if Miller could land a choke, theres no reason why GSP, the 10 times superior fighter couldn't.
