They should give Marquardt the title shot and have Belfort fight Sonnen for the next title shot. That would make a bit more sense.

Even though I don't want to see either guy lose, I can NOT wait to see this fight. My most anticipated matchup of the near future for sure.

Gotta give Belfort the edge. It wouldn't be particularly smart to bet against him with the tear he's been on.

But Nate is on a tear of his own, and I think he can beat ANYONE at 185.

So I have no real opinion ...........

I think Vitor got really lucky with the Franklin fight and Marquardt has been very impressive. My perdiction is Marquardt weathers the early strom, maybe gets rocked but he closes the distance and keeps the fight on the ground.

Nate Marquardt by UD.

btw I still think Hendo is still the best of the contenders.

I thought a little more about this and realized something. If Thales Leites can drop Nate, then Belfort shouldnt have a problem doing it either. Nate had better come up with a smarter gameplan then exchanging with one of the better strikers in the division, getting caught be Thales leites dropped him, getting caught by Belfort will knock him out. Just my take anyway.

Interesting fight. I'd pick Marquardt to win, but Belfort is obviously a dangerous match up for anyone.

Interesting indeed. I think nate will take this one, then get mauled by silva for the 2nd time.

However if vitor runs through nate, silva should be ready for a fight.

Great Matchup.
Hope it comes true.
Belfort is faster, Nate is stronger.
Both great strikers.
If Nate could take the fight into the second or third round he would have a great chance of taking the fight. I see him taking this one, by decision.
But...with Belfort's hands...u never know.

.

BELIEVE!

Would this still be a good matchup if Hendo was still signed with the UFC? Does anyobdy think it would be different like Hendo vs Belfort or Nate vs Hendo?

It'd be a good match up with or without Hendo in the UFC.

Rich is my favorite fighter and I think Nate would take him. Nate is head and shoulders better than the first time he fought Silva. I don't see Vitor catching him I think Greg Jackson will come up with a great plan to close the distance rough Vitor up against the cage and either take him down in the second or third and finish him or walk away with a decision. Nate is huge for 185 and ready for another shot at Silva while I don't see him beating Anderson I think he fairs 10 times better then the first time

And while I am not making any excuses for Rich but I don't think he was physically or mentally ready for Vitor. I have never heard rich make excuses but he even said in an interview that he wasn't really 100% for that fight.
