It makes no sense to fault UFC fans for not knowing who Cro Cop is. UFC certainly isn't going to do Pride any favours by hyping their fighters. They want to sell THEIR product to a MAINSTREAM audience, which means drawing more and more new fans, some of whom probably think Pride FC is an all-gay soccer club. Catering to an exclusive group of MMA fans when you're trying to make money is a bad idea.

Cro Cop should definently only need one fight, then a title shot. If the UFC signed a contract with him, they want to keep him pleased. To put him through a few warm up fights and then give him a title shot would be ridiclous. Silva had how many fights? and then he destroyed franklin. How much harder is it gunna be for mirko?

By then, a Cro Cop-Sylvia fight could do what no heavyweight title match has done for a long time and hold down the main event spot on a UFC card on its own.
as much as it would suck.. i agree
yes cro cop will beat his first match-up
and most likely sylvia
but white will wanna make a lot of money off him
so in order to do that, cro cop will have to make a name for himself to the people who just watch ufc once in a while and dont really know MMA or that there even is a PrideFC.

as unfair and dumb as it is... the money white will make off the PPV if cro cop makes a name for himself, getting crazy KO's and all that jazz will be a lot more in my honest opinion then if he just fights one guy then kills sylvia
but maybe i am wrong, we'll see.. i am just excited that he is moving to ufc lol

true it wont be any harder in my opinion
probably even easier

but for white to make the most money of a PPV and for fans to get extremely pumped for a mirko fight
he will have to make a name for himself to all those who just follow the ufc bandwagon
again as bad as it sounds that is maybe what white will do
or maybe he will just do what he did will anderson silva... who knows

Don't get me wrong. Of course Mirko is good enough for a title shot. But from a business standpoint it would make sense to give him just one more fight after Sanchez before sending him after the belt. Maybe a guy with a bit more name than Sanchez, like Eilers or somebody.
I know everyone who follows Pride wants to see him go for the belt right now, and so do I, but Cro Cop is money if handled right and putting him in against Sylvia right now would not be handling him right.
Don't forget he was a top guy in K-1 before Pride, and they didn't give him a shot right away.

I guess it all depends on how many fights he has signed for, either way in the near future, mirko will be the heavywieght champ, for a long time. But i think there will be some new good fighters who will want to challenge him. Im really looking forward to this.

How about Herring. He's imposing, coming off a win, he's UFC property now, he lost to Mirko in Pride, so they can play up the revenge angle. Of course Mirko will win, but he'll look really impressive doing it.

One factor that might be a consideration- he does A LOT of kicks to downed opponents...that may play a bit of a factor...

1. He who spares the bad injures the good

2. To compete is to live, but in order to fight you must first begin by digging two graves.

3. No good deed shall go unpunished.

Let's not forget that Cro-Cop is not invincable, He is capable of getting KO'd. Imagine if Tim Sylvia Layed out Cro-Cop like he did to AA. This Forum would have to shut down. However I really think he will be the champ for a long time.
Cro cop's too fast and stronger then Sylvia, Tim doesn't stand a chance
