Free prelims are a step in the right direction if Zuffa wants to ever, ever be able to compete with the 3 major sports.

I think the ufc has way to much power and population to ever worry about much. The ufc will always be the best org.

this is why there needs to be competition. Until the sport of MMA becomes something more than a product put out by the UFC it will stagnate. Perhaps we'll see a real competitor to the UFC, and if so it will have to find a stable home, either on cable or network TV. Until the sport of MMA becomes available in other brands besides the UFC it will only be a niche attraction on SpikeTV.

whiskey, racism, money, grease, twinkie's, guns.....yep lol thats about it

combat sports have never been a big draw on tv, except back in the 50's when tv and movies were about the only game in town. compete with the big 3 sports? not in this lifetime. most people can play the big 3 sports, no matter what shape they're in. if an old fat guy like me tries to "play" at mma, all that's gonna happen is me finding out how good my medical coverage is. lol. it may get bigger, but not like mlb, nfl and nba. the product is already getting watered down due to too many goddam shows.
