That said, Marcus was the best thing about this season. Really likable guy with surprisingly good ground game.
I have watched some of his fights before TUF and its evident that he has no chin
. In the heavyweight division its really hard to do well with a weak chin, and I'd put Marcus in the category from what I've seen. Maybe he received too much damage from football or something, who knows, or maybe he just doesn't have an iron head like fighters such as Rampage and Henderson have. With bad standup and no chin he's not really cut out for the big time.
He'll beat Mitrione but I don't see him being much of a threat in the heavyweight division. He's a personality though I really like him
I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed that. I haven't seen his old fights but I noticed it in his first TUF fight. He was rocked with a shot that most fighters wouldn't be hurt by, I think his saving grace was that he was so much taller than his opponent there, a liberty he didn't have in his fight against Bredan Schaub.
The danger with Meat Head is that the dude has a good chin and hits like a truck. This is a bad matchup for Marcus. Hopefully his improved standup defense will let him survive the big bombs and get the fight to the ground.
