Someone scored the fight 30-27 how the hell did kimbo get the first round without throwing a punch? Can some one tell me?

He took him down, he attempted submissions, he was throwing a ton of kicks, he really controlled the fight........... ok he did none of these things in the first round??? I am confused as you are my friend

Kimbo threw punches in the first round... He may not have for the first half but he threw a few during the second. His few punches probably canceled all of those tiny kicks Houston was trying to throw. Add to that you HAVE to give him Octagon Control, he had the center of the cage, and aggression as he was actively stalking a running opponent and I could easily see how they scored it from him. Not saying I scored it that way, but I can tell where it came from.

yea i never really agreed with winning of octagon control, but since it's in the scoring system if I had to argue it I would in this case. But still I wouldn't think it was 30-27 but who cares he won either way

Agreed, it isn't as insane as some fights, but I still wouldn't have scored it the same, but I can see the argument.

two different ways the fight could have been scored a 30-27, kimbo wins all three rounds, or he loses the first and the judge scored it a 10-8 second round. You can make a case for both
