You guys must not have wathched the fight....

I saw the instant replay, and as soon as Shamrock fell, his head instantly popped up and the stupid ref decided to save Sakuraba a beating and stop the fight.

Sakuraba has the refs on his side all the time.

The Japs are covering their backs. Look at the guy mezger fight. And then this. They screwed Guy and they screwed Ken.

And for those of you who are retarded enough to say Ken Shamrock has bad sportsmanship, you must have really not watched the fight. Ken still congratulated Sakuraba for being Japan's poster boy and winning the refs over.

Smirnovas had Saku beat, but the biased ref's didn't stop the fight(Which desperately needed to be stopped). I give Saku all the credit in the world though. The guy is tough, maybe too tough for his own good. One of my favorites, and I hate watching him get his head caved in. Saku's a true legend, and seeing him slowly becoming a veggie is pretty depressing.

Sakuraba was taking a vicious asskicking, and wasn't even defending himself. That fight should've been stopped, but due to biased officiating, it wasn't. Smirnovas was clearly gassed after beating down Saku, and felt it should've already been stopped. Smirnovas was clearly robbed, and applauding Saku for winning a fight he should've lost is sort of stupid. How many more knee's to the head, and punches to the head does Sakuraba have to take?

Whether or not Saku vs. Shamrock was stopped early, there wasn't much Shamrock could have done, had it not been stopped. He was turned completely away, and all that would happen is he'd probably eat a couple more punches, THEN it would be stopped.

I see the same outcome, no matter how you look at it.

I don't think it's stupid at all. It was pretty vicious but look what happened. He won which means he wasn't out and he was completely focussed enough to win via submission, you just couldn't do that if you were out of it. Granted in most cases it would have been stopped but to say it's stupid to applaud him for a match he shouldnt have won is pretty far off the mark. I was thinking it should have been stopped myself and then when he came up with the win I was like hell maybe not then

Fair enough. What would be your favorite Sakuraba fight? I'm pretty partial to his fight with Vernon White myself, though his fights with Renzo & Newton were really, really good as well.

Kewl man, well as far as the fights themselves I was a big fan of the Renzo and Royler fights. As far as the significance goes I was a huge fan of the Royce fight, couldnt believe someone was just playing with a guy that was owning mma for so long. The Silva trilogy was all entertaining as well even though he lost........damn the Rampage fight was kewl too lol. Man I love the guy I can even watch the horrendous Randelman fight a few times
