I dont think the UFC will create an interim title, although i may be wrong. More than likely they will give Mir the winner of Nog/Velasquez until Lesnar can fight Carwin.
If this fight did happen, though, Mir would probably win. Carwin is a bit overrated IMO and would be finished immediately by Mir's jiu jitsu if the fight went to the ground. Carwin has had a nice run in the UFC and packs a very powerful punch, but Mir would put him in his place if they fought.
Typical, before the Mir fight he's "The best striker in the division" now he's a "can"
Granted it wasn't who stated the striking quote, but you get my point
Mir pisses me off with his arrogance, but he looked great tonight. He knocked down "the best striker" in the HW division. I thought that he'd be sluggish 20 pounds heavier, but he looked great. IMO, he will be the #1 contender with his world class ground game, increased size, and standup. However, I just don't see him taking Brock out. I just can't see it happening. I can't wait for Lesnar/Mir III.
I know you did say "Granted it wasn't who stated the striking quote, but you get my point"
But id like to remind you that I never said that. He was always a can in my eyes, take a look at the guy on the right in my sig and you will understand why
The guy on the right in your sig saw the milky way and mars every time he was fool enough to stand with Kongo the can. He had to plop down and desperately grab for anything to hold on to.
If it wasn't for Kongo's terrible groundgame and Cain's amazing wrestling, that fight could have been very different. You cannot call someone a can who is 7-4 in the UFC, with two of those losses coming by split decisions, and giving plenty of trouble to Cain in the UD. Tonight was the first time in Kongo's UFC career that he actually got dominated, and that is a big thing.
