Maynard.. he is slowly turning into a 155 lb GSP. Not as good, but the styles are similar. I don't think he could damage Penn as much as GSP, but his takedowns, control and sub defence are very good and he could grind it out. I wouldn't bet against Penn, but this would be his toughest fight at 155 IMO. If Penn beats Maynard the division is effectively cleaned, nobody else has a fig of a chance.

I don't think Maynard will fair any better than sanchez did. BJ will sprawl/defend Grays takedowns and turn it into a boxing match. I don't think it's a stretch to say that if Bj does hold off the takedown that he would win the stand up decisively. I might give Florian another chance though I would still pick Penn to take it. If Florian was confident enough in his stand up to trade with BJ then it would present the best test AVAILABLE for Penn at 155.

nobody is even close, it's akin to the dominance GSP and Silva have over their respective weightclasses. Nobody can touch them, I saw maybe two hard shots landed by Diego tonight.

like I have always said the only person that can beat bj penn is ..bj penn, when he is trained and focused there is no one, I say kenny and maybe joe daddy again (even though he got worked the last fight I still give him a shot)

Regardless of who Penn fights next, I hope that the talk about Bjs cardio will finally end. He went 5 rounds of stuffing Diegos shots and was hardly winded after the fight. His cario has looked equally as impressive in his last few bouts.

I don't think Maynard's style is like GSP's at all. Maynard is like a 155 Koscheck, but not a GSP. All Maynard does is stand and throw huge bombs; his stand up is very limited.

I think someone like Frankie Edgar has the best chance at beating Bj in the 155 pound division. He has really good boxing, footwork, and head movement; it'd be interesting to see how him and Bj looked standing up.

Yeah, I'd like to see a Sherk re-match as well. He needs to do what he did to Hermes Franca(or try).

I would actually give Jose Aldo a better chance than any current LWs. I think Aldo vs. Penn is my new dream matchup.
