UFC 66: What Tito Did Wrong

What did Tito do wrong?

To me, he didn't set up his shots. he was shooting lazy shots by dropping to his left and spinning in as Chuck cirles to his right. Too bad for Tito that when he's on that left knee Chuck has a great right jab from the right circle. Other than that, it looked like Tito did everything right. Only Chuck did everything Tito did better. It's a good thing Tito lost. I think he has a long career ahead of him. Chuck is probably over the hill and is over the halfway point in his prime. Looks like Couture won't come back to fight tito like he said he would if tito found a way to beat chuck.

When you stand with chuck you can't really do anything wrong, so Tito as far as fighting Chuck goes was doing really really well.

His take downs were slow. He would drop to his knees then slide in! And then would try to hang on to an ankle out of desperation. And he should have made Chuck press the fight and took his beloved counter punching away from him. And of course the biggest mistake he made was to try to punch with a puncher, this is boxing 101.

Its a shame too becuase I have become a Tito fan and was pulling for him. The stopping was short but its better to early then too late. Afterall he is only 31. I predict he will hold the belt once again. Doubt he will get it from Chuck though, because you much always remember that styles make matchups.

chuck dropped his hands late in the second just to add more protection from the shoot. he wasn't even worrying about tito knockin him out or let alone hitting him. chuck liddell's confidence is what drove him through this fight.

Ya I agree, Tito just didn't have it tonight (maybe dosen't have it anymore). He's made his millions, is dating a hot porn star, and dosen't like getting hit (you could see that is his face all night, kept feeling his nose in the 3rd round etc )

They'll put him up against Rampage next and I think Rampage will destroy him at his own game (ground and pound). Apparently they are training partners and somewhat friends so maybe they will resist that, but I think Tito's motivation is somewhat gone, maybe he'll just focus on coaching from now on.

He did look beat from the 4th minute on, looked inevitable.
