I doubt Hioki or Imanari would make waves at all either.
I'd rather give a fighter like Gono a second go-around before Travis Lutter, Matt Linland and Jason McDonald

Gono would never be anything except for a gatekeeper at best in the UFC :\

Now if Dana signed someone like Eddie Alvarez, Aoki, Hansen, Calvancante and Amade could do some damage in the UFC if they got a few fights. Especially Eddie, that kid's a beast.

what a novel idea!! i think the NHL should also consider players from Russia..... oh wait..... they already do?? and the ufc already considers fighters from Japan?? ummm.... what was the point of this thread again??

If a fighter is on a high enough level the UFC will want them and likely try to get them... this isnt some new idea that is gonna open the floodgates like Russians in the NHL did..

Kinda of wierd thread? UFC is already open to any and all countries that have the talent pool to compete in the UFC.
There is lots of talent from Brazil,Can,Europe, and Japan.
All the Japanese fighters that are/were in the UFC just can't compete with the size and experiance of the fighters in the UFC, period, and I doubt there will ever be a contending fighter from Japan in the UFC. I know everyone is going to flak me and mention Machida, but he's half Brazilian, so it does not count.

Of course they are already open for a lot of countrys, but still i don't think they scout enough from overseas. Especially for the small weight classes, there aren't enough fighters from the asian market!

How about a TUF North Korea vs South Korea. But seriously, I am sure that any fighter who thinks he can compete is making his intentions known to the UFC or Strikeforce.

I think a Japan vs USA show would be intriguing, though I am not sure if an American audience would be that interested in reading subtitles.

The Japanese MMA orgs have, and have always had a great fan base. Why would fighters leave that to fight in some foreign org? Alot to lose and unless they excel, have little to gain.

That's like the president of DREAM saying "WANG! We need more American fighters!" Sorry bad analogy, that would actually help if they were looking to gain an American audience. I don't know where I'm going with this, time for the last period.

There's no real UFC worthy talent in Japan.

Aoki is a joke that wouldn't even be able to get by the lesser UFC LW's like Frankie and Ken-Flo. Putting him in the cage against BJ would be straight up murder.

Takanori Gomi already has a lost against BJ, so I could care less about him.

Can't think of anybody else...

Maybe Kid, but he's been dropping fights left and right. His time is done.
