I agree with the OP. The Mississippi river must have robbed some of Diego's Cosmic Chi. It's a proven fact that if you do Yes Cartwheels near a large river that runs north south it steals your cosmic energy. That is clearly why Diego lost, he wasn't a %100. It had nothing to do with BJ's skills.

Diego was 100%, you could even tell between rounds though that he was mentally broken, that is what happens when you give 110% and its just not enough and he knew it.

Yeah that first round killed his morale, it was obvious. I mean if you look at them it looked like an amateur fighting a pro, that's how bad it was. One observation is how smooth BJ was and how stiff Diego was. BJ is a smooth boxer with the power of a slugger which makes him very dangerous. Dam BJ hits hard. It was like water verses stone, water wins because it chips away at stone. The fight reminded me of the Bruce Lee saying. All the great fighters are smooth(Silva, Fedor, Lyoto), they don't expend energy recklessly. Being stiff, and hard(haha) robs you of your energy. To be smooth and relaxed yet ready to explode with technical precision is the mark of a champ.

BJ simply has no weaknesses now that his cardio is consistently at a championship level.

Not a single guy at 155 who could knock BJ out, or submit him. Or take him down, or outbox him. Now he can show those ridiculous skills for 5 rounds every fight if necessary.

Have fun LW contenders.

BJ looked to be 3 to 4 times the fighter Diego was last night... So unless Diego was only 25%, my guess is Penn would have won...

I'm with you...it sucks to see someone get demolished like that. BJ just beat him, he is the better fighter.

I was telling my buddies this, I was pointing out that BJ was not trying to finish the fight. I am really scared for the LW contenders because now that BJ seems to really enjoy fighting he lets it go on into the championship round and just puts the punishment on you. In the beginning 5th round you could see where BJ was telling Diego that he was going to finish him this round.

I predicted:

1) a bloody fight(check)
2) A TKO for bj Penn in R4 ( which penn ruined by deliberatlytaking his time when he could have done it in 4)

Sonnen On the spider
If he wants to leave the division, leave the sport, who cares, Beat it, nobody tunes in to watch him anyways, and his little fake I dont speak English.
