BJ and Mir claim their punching styles last night were inspired by Manny Pacquiao

Bj Penn on Pacquiao
Quote:
Penn watched the Nov. 14 boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto while he was in his training camp and decided to try to emulate Pacquiao’s style on Saturday.

“I just like watching Pacquiao and how he throws punches in bunches,” Penn said. “He’s so fast. You might get away from the first two or three, but the two or three that come behind that are going to hit you. I kind of figured that out.”

Frank Mir on Pacquiao
Quote:
Mir explained: “It’s something we’ve been saying the whole training camp. We call it “The Pacquiao,” because Manny Pacquiao will step off as a southpaw and throw the overhand left. As soon as I hit Kongo I went to catch him with the uppercut and I didn’t see him, he was on the ground.”

He is the best boxer in the world (well atleast until march when he fights Mayweather) so using his teqhnuiqes is a smart thing imo.

Pacman will KTFO Mayweather. Its the fight "Money" has been dodging for a while now and soon you'll see why.

lol nah. Mayweather's style is a terrible match up for Pacman. Floyd is faster and has the reach advantage, he will avoid a slug fest and counter punch his way to a decision.

And yet... the looping punch with which Mir dropped Kongo seemed more Fedor-esque than anything.

Defecato, ergo sum.

Dope interview...

“In 10 years of being in this business, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anybody more busted up than Diego is right now,” White said. “His whole lip is split open in half, in two different places. When I say split open, it’s torn down to this stuff down here [indicating a point on his chin]. His forehead is as open as [Marvin Eastman], the kid that Vitor Belfort kneed [at UFC 43]. They pulled that thing wide open. His face? I think his nose is broken. I don’t even know how Diego kept coming forward. He’s a tough kid, man. I’m almost positive his nose was broken by the third round. That Tony Robbins [expletive] works.” ROFLZ...

You can't compare Hatton and Cotto to Floyd. Everyone knows the key to beating a southpaw is a good right hand which evidently is Floyd's best punch. He'll tag Manny all night long and run like he always does. He'll win a boring decision. Not to mention Floyd is just as fast if not faster than manny.

I thought it was fairly obvious Pacquiao was going to destroy Hatton. I'm not sure what the general consensus was but I think you're exagerating.

I expect Mayweather to take it.
