Maynard is the fighter that knocked himself out, correct?
it was a joint effort. and its not like its the first time. Matt Lindland was a beast of a wrestler and did the same thing in the octagon IIRC.

Maynard isnt gonna be able to beat Diaz, so it will probably be Frankie Edgar..who BJ will demolish as well. He has better striking, submissions, grappeling, and much more craziness, which is why he is so good. I will say BJ is smarter than both of these fighters as well.
Although I agree with everyone that Maynard can't beat bj, but I would think that Maynard is the favourite over nate.
Maynard might not be that exciting but he is def a good fighter. If Guida can take nate down and keep him there I have to believe Maynard can do the same. And I don't think he'll get caught in a submission like he did in tuf.
What skills does Aoki have that he can beat BJ with?
My point is, yes, Aoki is a solid fighter and yes, it would be interesting, but at the same time there are guys in the UFC right now who pose more of a threat to BJ than Aoki does, so why go all the way to Japan to pick up Aoki when he poses a smaller threat than many guys in the UFC LW division?
I may be wrong here but I think its clear that I made the point that NO ONE is a threat to BJ at this time. it should go something like Edgar, Maynard and than Florian II. I also stated that I have a hard time making a case for any fighter to remotely challenge at 155. After he clears out the UFC LW's I think it would be nice to have the #2 and 3 fighters added to the list of fighters BJ cleared out.
***EDIT*** Sorry for the repetitive slur above, I have been up for far too long and see no sleep insight. I do think you can get my point though.

I would have to agree with you on these statements.
I don't see how Maynard should get a shot at the title if he beats Nate Diaz. I think he should face KenFlo or Diego Sanchez prior to getting a title shot. Although they both lost to BJ, they are still top fighters at 155.
