Bisping's Win Not Convincing?

I was rooting for Bisping all the way he is my favorite fighter to come off that show. But that Eric Schaeffer guy really impressed me. He was relentless and really good with his submissions for being such a big guy. He almost had Bisping in 2 submissions if I remember right. He was landing some good shots standing up but he started to get sloppy. I don't wanna take anything away from Bisping at all and I'm not saying it was stopped early or anything like that. All I'm saying is I didn't think it was a very convincing win. It was an ugly win is basically what I am trying to say. This is not to take anything away from Bispings skills but moreless giving credit to Schaeffer's skills. Bisping TKOed him but it wasn't like he dominated at any point during that fight.

Anyone else agree?

I wouldn't say it was an ugly win. Schafer is mainly a JJ fighter and it was apparent from the beginning that Bisping wanted to keep it standing. Eric Schafer is a tough guy and if any one thought Bisping would just walk through him, well, you're crazy. Loved Bisping's post fight interview!! "Anybody, EVERYBODY better watch their f*ckin' back!" He'll do well at 205.

Now that I think of it I'm having trouble remember most of that fight, I think I got too into Macdonald squeezing Leben's head off (That was awesome ) Anyways, getting to the point I wouldn't say he dominated but he sure showed he's well rounded, take down defense, escaping submissions, striking...schaffer was a big guy and bisping seemed to handle him fairly well, even though schaffer did impress me. Buut what do I know I was pretty impressed with Bisping, but I see where you are coming from, it will be interesting to see him fight some of the bigger names.

Maybe I am just used to seeing TUF winners fight total cans for their first opponents. MacDonald and this Schaeffer fella are 2 exceptions apparently.

Its apparent that Bisping isnt some unstopable force. He defiantly has holes in his game for someone whos been doing JJ as long as he has. I dont think hes ready for any top contenders yet he should first be built up a bit more.If you really look at his record he hasnt foughten many tough guys so only time will tell where he stands in the UFC. Hes obviously a tough guy and yes he won imprssivly but he dose have holes in his game. I hope Shafer get another chance.

Forum Bets: 0-0(Still undefeated)

agreed, i think that fight showed us that bisping still has along way to go. i think f you throw him in there with anyone that is exceptional in any aspect of the game he would have trouble. for example if you threw him in there with chuck, i think bisping gets ko'd rd 1 right now. and since he likes to kick so much, and obviously he wont stop kicking even when he knows his opponent is waiting for the kick to go for the take down, if you throw him in there with a guy like tito right know tito is going to take him right down and be all over him.

I was'nt completely impressed with Bisping performance but not suprised either. I think he did just enough to sqeak out the TKO.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Favorite Fighters:

Chuck Liddell
Rich Franklin
Diego Sanchez

The LHW division was and is still thin. I think Bisping is good enough to have his way with guys not named Liddell, Ortiz, and Jackson. I'm not sure exactly who they can put against him next. Maybe Forrest? Bisping/Jardine would be wicked as well.

Bisping is overrated and has had an easy ride so far, IMO.

It's about time. No one, no matter what show they're on, deserves 'easy' fights. I think just the opposite should be true; TUF fighters should get tough fights for their first ppv.
