Round 2: Brock comes out fast, misses a jab, mir tags him on the side of the head, throws a knee which connects, although it looks to have hit brocks shoulder. he is then taken down and quickly stands up when brock doesnt pounce on him. After standing up, mir throws a bunch of punches although it seems only 2-3 really connect. Mir throws a knee, gets caught, and throws another knee which brock himself admitted left him seeing birds. He is then taken down and we all know how the fight goes from there.
Brock barely connected in the standup, his most effective strikes were two leg kicks right at the beginning of the first. Mir won the standup, but lost the fight. Feel free to watch it again and tell me im wrong

IMO, your recollection of round 2 is a bit off. The flurry of punches that Mir threw (before he tried the jumping knee) all missed. Brock moved his head out of the way on all of them as he was backing up. In the clinch, Mir landed a knee (which stunned brock). Then, he went for the jumping knee and Brock took him down.
How did 2 or 3 connect. I don't remember him throwing much more than 2 or 3 during that attack.
Brock was backing up, yes, but Mir wasn't landing anything.

Just watched it again, mir threw 3 punches in the original flurry, and yeah it looks like they all missed, however he catches brock with a nice left hook right before throwing the 2 knees, my point still stands IMO, mir beat brock in the standup and he'd do it again if he could avoid getting taken down.

Haha, wait... to set the record straight, I would never argue that Brock has better standup than Mir.
OK, now that I got that out... I was only stating that it wasn't as lopsided as your original depiction. It looked worse live than it really was. Brock actually did a great job avoiding contact during the flurry.
Mir did catch him with the elbow, which allowed Mir to sneak the knee in. That's when Brock went to his comfort zone (the ground).
Brock did a good job in that fight, IMO. Maybe Mir's newly sculpted physique will help, but Brock is a different breed in terms of speed and strength. Mir either wins by TKO or timely sub after a Brock mistake. Mir stands no chance grappling with Brock.

Also mir was tooling brock in the standup their 2nd fight...dunno about carwin but imo for brock he needs to work on tdd not takedowns..

What does the guy who played Luke Skywalker have to do with this?
Love the thread title btw lol. Frank generally seems like a pretty likable person when he's not hyping a fight. Definitely want to see him and Carwin throw down.
