Evans and GSP sparring!
 

I saw this vid for the first time today, it was before George fought BJ Penn for the second time.

And now I was wondering where is the size advantage :confused02: can you find it? Evans is supposed to be a big 205 lbs ( he was a HW before that ) and George a WW...

I tried really hard to see the difference but Evans only looks maybe 10lbs bigger if at all!

This video makes me even more thrilled about a fight between Silva and GSP.

Evans a big LHW? there has been talk of him being more suited for 185

The size difference in the Silva vs GSP fight would barely have an affect on this fight imo...

First of all GSP is bulking up getting ready to move to MW already, he is even bigger then when this video shows.

Second, GSP is probably the best wrestler in all MMA. Size advantages for strikers is not nearly as beneficial as size advantages for wrestlers. That is why say Penn can defeat almost all his opponents(even those that are larger then him) except for GSP because of his wrestling. Anderson doesn't have that advantage.

Third, Anderson doesn't have godlike take down defense or wrestling ability. Almost anyone that has gone in with a game plan to take him down has been able to get him to the ground.

This fight would be a lot closer then some people think and I personally would pick GSP over Silva. He has a height disadvantage and a slight reach disadvantage but other then that he is the perfect match up against Silva. He has very good striking(he outsruck Penn and Alves to name a couple very good strikers), amazing wrestling and cardio, very good submission knowledge/defense.

GSP is the only fighter in the UFC not in the HW division that I think could beat Silva.

Yeah Rashad was like 220 or something during TUF, so if he kept that same weight throughout he only cuts around 15 pounds for LHW, I could see him being a HUGE MW but that would be a really hard cut to make, GSP could easily fight at MW and even hold his own against some LHW IMO..agree with the OP this makes me wanna see Silva/GSP badly. HW was never Evans true weight class, everyone knew that so thats a moot point. He's is a small LHW imo, I think he's only 5'10' and he isn't ripped like some LHWs. I think he could make MW without too much trouble tbh.

I remember this video. There is hardly any difference in height between GSP and Rashad. Thats why they look so similar. It's just GSP is so lean and Rashad having more muscle mass. I think GSP is even bigger nowadays, I think he said in an interview he's around 200 walkaround weight.

A few things:

Please Silver Star, market compression shorts with the fleur de lis on them.

Defending against two spinning sticks like that would be a great workout, and fun as hell.

Finally, I have to know what the music in the beginning was. (When Rashad was doing his pimp walk up the stairs).

Lastly, LOL @ GSP's, "I feel like I got 'it by a truck......by five truck."

I have to agree. Call me surprised. The matchup against Silva does indeed seem so much more appetizing after watching that vid. Very cool. +1

also i am a little surprised that anyone would think that GSP v silva WOULDNT be a close fight, regardless of who wins. I am another one of those ppl who places less emphasis on weight - especially 15 pounds
