Nobody is in the ring but 2 fighters and the Official. We should trust his judgement and leave it at that. He can see more than we can, specifically the fighters eyes, which tell more than body language or anything else.
Bottomline these guys are trained to know what to look for, and they do their job as best they can. I would much rather a fight stop early than late. All it takes is one to many punches for things to go bad.

Good answer! I would much rather see a fighter come back to fight again and again than end up brain dead in a bed some where. That is the one thing I did not think of, was the official point of view, which is much closer than mine, being that I am in GA a few thoushand miles away and they are 1-2 feet away from the actual fighters. Trust I duno, respect, now I do, thanx!

I mean if the person is getting the crap beaten out of them and they arent able to defend it would be ridiculous not to call it. Broken eye sockets, concusions, etc can all occur when they dont need to happen. With this match and many others they have been VERY liberal with calling the match. If the person isnt defending himself properly is sustaining heavy damage and isnt doing anything to improve his position then the fight should be called. The UFC lets this go on only if the round is about to end. That I agree with. If they have a minute to go and this guys getting beat hard they need to call it.

Trust me, if you were down there, getting T'eed to the dome by chuck, you would want it stopped too lilpuncher.
Plus, Tito had his get up and fight again chance in the first round when it could have been stopped.

i think it was a few seconds too early, even Joe was saying the punches werent really doing any damage, and just before it was stopped Ortiz was moveing away maybe going for a leg, so obviously not being hurt to badly to the point where it needs stopping. But the fact that he had been getting the crap beat out of him and wasnt looking the best it was innevitable and Tito was probably happy his face didnt get too much of a pounding..
