View Poll Results: How would Fedor perform in UFC?
Do you think that Fedor would be successful in UFC?
I just want to see how many people do believe that Fedor would get the UFC belt and go undefeated if he signed a 4-fight contract, for example... right now.
Thats pretty hard to say actually. I would say he would get the belt now because Brock is still injured^^ he would definitely beat guys like Nog, Mir, Carwin and Cain and take the belt. But Brock is different I don't know but I have the feeling he could beat Fedor maybe not in there first match but in the second. Similiar to Brock vs. Mir
As much as I love Fedor and defend him on his P4P status, I think that he would lose one fight in the UFC. The refs in the UFC are a lot more strict than they were in Pride, so I agree with hellholming I think he would lose to early stoppage, or maybe even get another cut.
I don't think someone would actually BEAT him though, if you know what I mean.
Also, no way in hell it would be Lesnar. Fedor is better than him all over the place. His grappling is top notch, his striking is very good, and his submissions are far out. He would submit Lesnar quicker than Mir did in their first fight.
I think he would probably lose once, but that would depend on how active the UFC forced him to be. If they could get him to fight three or four times a year, it would be very hard for him to stay very healthy constantly fighting the top heavyweights in the UFC without being able to have any gimme fights. He just fought Rogers, who is good but kind of one dimensional. His next fight is Werdum, who isnt completely one dimensional, but will have no chance in hell standing up. I think the top UFC heavyweights are quite a bit more well rounded. Cain has decent stand up, great wrestling and non stop GNP. Dos Santos has terrific stand up, not much is actually known about his ground game. Mir has good stand up and a good ground game. Carwin has a ton of power and is a decorated wrestler. I think you can kinda see my point.
I think JDS poses more of a threat to Fedor than Brock does.
And that opinion is just based on the AA fight really. I mean, Lesnar has overrated standup. He is really strong, yes, but his punches are a lot less accurate than someone like Junior dos Santos, who connects and with power.
Let me say this. I think Fedor would beat JDS and Brock, but JDS has a better chance of winning than Lesnar does. At least that's my opinion.
Yeah, he'd be successful - probably take on: Lesnar, Mir, Carwin and I would love to see him take on Couture, but wouldn't happen. I do think he'd lose one of these fights though (probably against Lesnar unfortunately).
