why cant anyone beat chuck? I think Jardine might be able to.
Why can't anyone beat chuck. It is quite clear on how to do it. If you stay on the outside you are in his power zone where he can catch you with those long looping punches. You need to get inside and shortin up the punches and if you watch chuck vs Ramdy 1 where he beat chuck and 3 where he was beating chuck untill he rolled his ankle, randy was the agresser he was always on the offense getting in close and keeping chuck on the fence. Everyone else stays away from chuck stays in his power zone and thats why they get knocked out. It dosent seem like it should be that hard.
your going to think I am crazzy but bear with me here. I think jardine has a chance at beating him because he likes to stay on the inside and throw short punches and in every match he fights he is allways on the offence always pressing forword no matter what. that is what it takes to beat chuck.

Wanderlei Silva and Quinton Jackson are definitely fighters who could conceivably beat Liddell.

The reason why no one ever pushes the fight with Chuck, is because hes known to knock out several people. And Keith Jardine, sure he could knock out Liddell, but hes not ready for a title fight just yet, I think he needs to win one more fight until hes proven to be ready for a title fight. If Quinton Jackson wins his debut at UFC 67, which I expect him to have no problem, then UFC should have him face Liddell. Hes the man capable to beat Liddell.

Did you just say "you need to get inside on Chuck Liddell."? A few guys have tried that.
Vernon White was a great young striker with the athleticism to bring it to Liddell and get inside and throw short punches. While he tried to move inside he got punched in the face repeatedly, and he did not last that long.
Randleman got inside on Chuck, but those were all for takedowns, and we know that you have to be better than an NCAA wrestler to take down Chuck Liddell.
Jardine does have a shot at Chuck, the question is whether or not he's going to try and dance with Chuck. It doesn't seem to be an issue of people getting inside, it's an issue of argressiveness. Everyone knows how strong Chuck's hands are and so they try not to get hit so much, always thinking about normal angles, that they miss little things he does and some of the bizzarre angles that he throws at. That is, at least in my mind, the key to beating Chuck.
Look at it this way. Chuck is feared and respected by every lightheavyweight in the UFC, and his hands are considered the most dangerous weapon around. Chuck went to PRIDE and fought Rampage and Rampage just took the punishment as it came and dished it right back at Chuck, and he won. He showed no fear.

Well Randy was the one that was domintating the 1st and 3ed fight they had by being the agressor. Chuck likes to be on offence all of the time you have to get him out of that comfort zone to beat him.

Right Jardine needs one or two more fights before a title shot but a think the way he fights would work.

If Rampage wins, have him fight Chuck next.
Then have Jardine fight Rashad Evans and the winner of that gets the next title shot.

Personally I don't think Wandy is a good match up with Chuck. I do think Rampage is, obviously. Chuck Liddell has fought the same since day one, so Rampage beat him before he can do it again. The hardest things, in my opinion, with Liddell is where he throws punches from and his ability to make people miss. How many times have we seen him knock someone out while he was retreating, actually moving backward? He circles out and BAM. I think the only way to beat him is to go right after him and take YOUR fight to him. Sobral tried to do that the second time, but we see what happen. Chuck is a freak, how do you train for someone like him?
