I guess my comparison of Sanchez and Penn came from the Sanchez vs Karo fight. He fought a great fight on the ground keeping out of danger and like you said ground and pounding. You're right in saying that Penn is way out of Diego's league when it comes to Jiu-Jitsu. Maybe I should've said, Diego is flexible and quick on the ground like Penn.

It ok it happens. Even the best fighters have lost on their record. Well except Fedor.

I'm not so sure Hughes would win against Diego to be honest. I really think those bursts of energy would do him in. I think Diego is good enough to give GSP a real run for his money and that's coming from a big GSP fan!

So in other words PHILJITSU, you think Penn would submit Diego if they ever fought?

I think penn would win a three round fight diego would be weary of the submission. Maybe KO win for Penn hes a harder hitter than he looks deceptivly powerful as Joe Roegan but it.

Koscheck is a much better wrestler than Matt Hughes. Just like in other styles there is a big difference in "world class wrestlers". That term is overused alot I think. The announcers say "world class kickboxer" or "world class wrestler"..etc..

With that being said I"m not sure Koscheck is well rounded enough yet to take on Hughes. I"m pretty neutral on Koscheck(he acted like a punk on TUF,but is also a hard worker/trainer,so I"m split a bit),but the guy has a chance to go for a title in a few years if he picks up some more skills.

Thats a big difference between Diego and Koscheck. Diego isnt in the same class as Koscheck in wrestling, but Diego is the much better MMA fighter. Give Koscheck a couple more years and some more fights and he very possibly could be a top 3 fighter in his weight class.

Same. I'm more of a GSP fan than Hughes, but I want to see Sanchez lose, even if it is by Hughes (would prefer it be GSP that puts Sanzhez away)

If this fight happens ever, Diego will outstrike Hughes and it will be a great KO. I believe Karo is going to beat Hughes too. But back to THE MAN (ahem...other then GSP) Diego. He is the only person at 170 who can beat GSP right now and I give him a 50/50 chance. I hope Diego gets the belt and has a rematch with Karo. That was probably my favorite fight ever. 170lbs. just has sick competition now and really I can think of about 12 matches I would love to see in 2007 from that group of talent alone.

A groan of tedium escapes me...
