The only notable fight diego had was against karo so even though with time he might get up to that next level that Hughes, GSP and Penn are at he is not there yet. Hughes would win the fight. UFCJunkie is posting comments from Hughes on his site. UFC Junkie

After GSP gets this Lutter non-sense out of the way, he should definitely defend his belt agains the winner of a Hughes-Sanchez #1 contender fight.

For those of you who think Hughes would destroy Sanchez, you got another thing comin'. Sanchez looks pretty beastly. He took some pretty good punishment in that Karo fight and he didn't even seem fazed. I think he could knock Hughes out better than GSP did.

Fighters:
BJ Penn

Denis Kang

I think the next resonable fight for Diego would be BJ. If, and the key word is if, he beats him - he most definitely deserves a title shot. He is a tough, talented young guy but his only notable W is Karo (props for that one). He needs to fight someone else before he can prove he is title-worthy. Nonetheless, he has tons of potential.

Whoops, my bad. Shows how much I care about those 2 fights. It's a shame we have to wait even longer to see a good WW championship fight now, since GSP is hurt. Maybe, they'll substitute that fight w/ Hughes/Sanchez or Hughes/Karo. Anything would be better than GSP/Lutter, I mean Serra.

BJ Penn

Denis Kang
