AA was desperate?

Dont take this the wrong way, but did AA get scared/annoyed when cruz went for submissions and kicked him on purpose? I dont blame the guy if he did because if he lost to cruz it was bye bye AA. anyhow.. do u think it was a fair fight because right after that AA gave 1 right to cruz's jaw which basically ended the fight.

i think it was fair because AA landed the punch right after Herb Dean said go, therfore he didnt do anything wrong. Cruz should have kept his gaurd up.

I agree, Cruz should've kept his guard up.

Arlovski waited a good 5 seconds before punching him after Herb said go. I didn't see anything wrong with what AA did. Except for holding the fence. After the fight AA said he is angry and wants the belt, so maybe he is desperate. That just makes him more dangerous!

Sometimes it is hard to avoid instinct in the situation Arlovski was in. The guy is desperate to get back up in the heavyweight ranks, and he probably didn't have his head on completely straight, he really looked pissed! He waited a sufficient amount of time before socking Marcio in the face as well, it wasn't like immediately after Herb said "fight" Andre clocked him, he gave him a few seconds then absolutely leveled him with that punch..

The scary thing is watching Arlovski's face while he was decking him on the ground.. the funny thing was the interview after with Arlovski, he sounds like Borat!

cruz's fault for thinking he was in a grappling match.

One of the core universal mma rules is keep your guard up at all times during the time the fight is on and cruz didnt.

It's got to be hard when you want to end the fight quickly, and in convincing fashion, yet you are fighting a munhugger like cruz. I can imagine him thinking (in russian) "damn dude, just let go of me so I can knock your ass out!"

I can see what you mean here. As soon as Big Herb stopped it for the warning you see Arlovski raising his hand ready for the punch like it was his plan all along. Like it's been said though, Cruz should have kept a gaurd up & that would never have happened anyway.

I agree that arlovski was desperate, I would be to if I had just lost 2 in a row and this match decided the fate of my ufc career.

Arlovski did nothing wrong, he waited about two seconds before throwing the punch and even if he didn't wait, Cruz should have been prepared. I like punching my way out of footlocks and it is quite effective. Cruz's fault. The kick? Questionable. The fact Herb Dean was going to stand them up and Cruz looked like a deer in headlights because of it? Hilarious.
