I agree. I dont think they FIX fights, but i wouldnt be suprised IF big fights/main events the fighters where told to go one round then go ahead and end it. But if Big John saw that Tito was messed up any worse he would have stoped it. If Chuck would have thrown 2 more puches the fight was over.

Everyone that gets a ppv would seriously wouldnt want to have a first round KO/sub.

He probably just didn't want to hear Tito *****ing about it it being stopped early, and maybe he wanted to see him get beat down a bit more. Plus I think he was about to stop it, and then Tito kind of started fighting back a little bit, after that Chuck kind of backed off because he didn't want to over-commit and get couaght with an up kick.

Plus, the coolest part of the fight... was when chuck threw that elbow off the fence while Tito was clinching. If that had landed flush, it would have been the highlight reel of the year!

I said it before and I will say it again...upper management "pressures" them, not necessarily fixes the fights. It was clearly evident in the last UFC and will be more evident in the future especially with the upper cards

I dont think in any way shape or form UFC is fixing fights. They are on the verge of becoming the number one combat sport in America(boxing needs to die already) and to take a chance on something like fixing a fight would be suicide to the sport.

Now management may say soemthing to the effect of " try not to end this in the first 30 secounds", but I'm sure thats as far as it goes. And even if they do say that to a fighter, whats gonna make that fighter listen. If hes in a postion to win and win fast, you can bet that fighter is gonna take.

Well, love the suspicion and all, but why not talk to someone actually fighting IN the UFC, or their coaches on that note?

1. He who spares the bad injures the good

2. To compete is to live, but in order to fight you must first begin by digging two graves.

3. No good deed shall go unpunished.

idk no body really wants to see a one hit wonder in a fight liek that

fear is only an obstacle, you can either beat it or succumb to it

chuck let it go past the first round cuz he wanted a knockout victory rather than beating on tito 'till the reff called it. after gassing and losing the second round to tito he took his opportunity to win in the 3rd. the fighters always talk about fighting for the fans and trying to make an entertaining match, so i have no doubt that chuck was willing to stretch the fight out not cuz of pressure from the ufc but for the viewers

I don't think they're fixed fixed, but i can see the possibility of having the much hyped main event that brought in millions being made to go on longer. It really did seem like Chuck could finish Tito off at any given point, but held back. And he didn't look that winded or anything.

Another fight I think had some partial fixing was the Tito-Griffin fight. I know all the Griffin asskissers will be on me for this, but look at how easily tito dominated that first round.. he manhandled that baby. And the next couple of rounds, Forrest did NOTHING to hurt tito.. seriously, his punches were ssooo sloppy and weak, and most didn't even get through. And yet, Tito didn't do anything to attack.. just waited it out for no reason even though he clearly looked in control. And all the while, the commentators were hyping up every sloppy strike from Forrest as awesome! every third second they were like Forrest this, Forrest that.. almost as if they were trying to please the TUF viewers. If you turn off the sound on that fight, you'll have no doubt about who won. Oh, and for the record, I hate Tito from the depths of my soul, so this isn't a Tito-fan bias by any means.

The same went for the TUF finals between Griffin and Bonnar.. the commentators couldn't stop heaping praise on some of the worst displays of technique I have ever seen. It was all "stand and get punched repeatedly" crap but they actually called it the greatest UFC fight of all time! As if!!

In general it doubt the UFC fixes the outcomes, but I definitely get the feeling they give the a lot of the popular TUF guys easier fights against cans and ask the pros to "make it look close" with them for the big ones. I mean think about it .. that reality show is the biggest mainstream attraction of the UFC, worth millions of dollars. How would it look if after all the sissy drama and hype they put them through on that show to endear them to the public, they just went bust in the real UFC?

If anything, that's hyperbole.
