Dana White on UFC 108: More disrespect was thrown at the fighters this week than ever

i agree with White and i'm glad i bought the event honestly. these are always the cards that deliver. sure i get excited for the "big name" events but damn.. it always seems like sooo much hype is surrounding the event that it doesn't deliver.

i believe there is such a thing as over hyping and sometimes the UFC falls victim to it.

I can see both sides of it. This should've been a much better card as previous New Years were. But there were a lot of injuries and unpreventable things that went on that made this card maybe not as interesting as cards in previous years. All in all I thought it was a great night of fights. But there weren't to many big names on it so most probably weren't expecting all that.

I didn't badmouth the card, but even if I had, badmouthing a weak card is not exactly the same as badmouthing the fighters in the card.

When you're paying $50 for a PPV you kind of expect something special. Maybe lowering the PPV charge due to replacing fights would be a nice gesture.

If we wanted to see great fights with no title or ranking relevancy with names we barely know, we have WEC, youtube, Dream, K1...

If we're paying fifty dollars (price of a utility bill), they better be big names whose ranking or title is threatened.

I can see where people are coming from but IMO this was a decent card with some entertaining fights. Every fight delivered and everyone should respect these guys for going out there and putting on a fight for the fans.
