Excatly you guys nailed it! Daley wants to fight Alves so badly because he doesn't really need to fear any Takedown attempts from him. But against guys like Kosh and Fitch he needs to show how he can survive against world class wrestlers. And I think he already knows the answer wich is he wouldn't survive maybe to a decision like you mentioned, but with some nasty bruises the day after and a loss to his record.

Will Kos try and stand with him? Will Daley's TDD be decent enough for him to have a chance? We shall see folks.

I'd rather Daley fight Alves. Daley has heavy hands, but Tiago is a beast in the clinch and has an excellent chin, I'd pick Alves in that matchup. Kos takes Daley down and GnP's his way to victory, pretty straightforward win.

Even if daley start train his TDD todaay till the match with kos , i think kos take him down first try .
but i'm pretty sure Kos will try to bang with him for few min and that could End badly for him .

I'm not saying he would be able to stop all of Kos' takedowns, but if he could at least give him a little bit of trouble, it would give him a shot.

Also, Kos would have to be a little bit worried about eating a shot on the way in, considering Daley's monster power.

Hmm Shields took him down, so Koscheck will ragdoll him down pretty easily. Koscheck has this one in the bag 100% if he fights smart and just take it down.

Kos subbed AJ and I doubt a fight against Daley would go any different. Maybe Kos would go for the TD right away instead of waiting for half a round. Anyway, if Kos grabs him the fight is over.

I sincerely hope this fight happens just so we won't have to listen to Paul Daley hyperbole anymore. Bottom line, to be a top fighter in the UFC now, you have to be able to deal with high level grapplers. If you aren't one yourself, you better have stellar TDD.

Daley doesn't, he has virtually no chance at all in a division filled with top notch wrestlers and grapplers, of ever cracking the top ten. If he is lucky enough to get a fight against someone like Serra or Hughes, he might inflate his ranking enough, but Fitch, Kos, Alves, GSP, etc, will all beat him easily. Hell even Hughes might beat him since Daley's ground game is so bad.

Basically his future in the UFC is someone like Chris Lytle. Lytle will never be a great fighter, but he is popular and makes a decent living as a measuring stick for up and coming fighters. Daley could do the same, he has a good chin and when he does win he gets knockouts, so thats his place in the UFC, if he wants it, in my opinion.
