It's Abu Dhabi Combat Club, youtube it, there is some seriously narly stuff going on there. Some of the greatest grapplers in history have grappled there from Dean Lister, Garcia to Nate Marquardt, IIRC.

What still get's me confused is that UFC has still not entered the waters of Brazil & Japan yet while colonizing every other part of the world slowly... I'm sure the MMA market can't be that bad in Japan & Brazil right?!?... nah say it aint so...

They have been their briefly in the past but Japan and Brazil already have a lot of organisations so it's easier for them just to conquer uncivilised lands for lack of a better phrase. UFC would have a costly battle on their hands especially if they wanted to take over Japan because the market is quite saturated their.

Makes perfect sense to me. The Sheik will have plenty of money to invest in the UFC in order to help it grow. Not only that but he's clearly a fan of the sport. By selling a minority stake Dana ensures financial stability while still keeping control.

it has nothing to do with where this guy is from ,its what he brings to the UFC, and from looking at it from the outside with little information being given, I would assume this guy brings very little to the UFC. I honestly cant see anything beneficial to be partnered with someone who has something to do with the ADCC

This is what I was referring too, Zuffa did this cuz there isn't and isn't going to be the market in this area of the world for this sport...simply put this is just an influx of cash a little less risk and probably funds to promote these new events in Australia, Philippines and Brazil....

Really? TONS of UFC fighters have also participated in ADCC, many fighters compete in ADCC before entering the UFC. A link with the ADCC can only help the UFC. And that's a separate topic from the cash infusion this guy is bringing.

Everybody good, plenty of slaves for my robot colony?

Are people forgetting the UFC is holding an event in Abu Dhabi in April?? This is also a strategic partnership.
