UFCThe Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is a U.S.-based mixed martial arts organization, recognized as the largest MMA promotion in the world. The UFC is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada and is owned and operated by Zuffa, LLC. This promotion is responsible for solidifying the sport's postion in the history-books.
UFC is currently undergoing a remarkable surge in popularity, along with greater mainstream media coverage. UFC programming can now be seen on FOX, FX, and FUEL TV in the United States, as well as in 35 other countries worldwide.
Watching the WEC card last night on Versus I noticed they were advertising a Fight Night card to premiere on Versus (I think in Feb.). My question is, is the UFC leaving Spike TV to go to Versus? It's not a big deal since I get both Channels but I was just curious.
That'd be a terrible move for UFC and Spike. Both suffer from that. Versus is a terrible network with a limited viewership compared to Spike which is a fairly large network that is on basically every cable or satelitte package.
Poor Spike would probably go under though because they really don't have much other programming besides the UFC. I don't like versus half as much as Spike, every Red Wings game on versus has had horrible commentary and bad camera angles. Fox Sports Net is where it's at.
