Guys like Alves, Kos, Rumble would murder Diaz.
They are just to strong/powerful for him.
He needs to take some time "to put some meat on his bones".

Diaz is a weak lightweight. He will be hurt as a welterweight.

That's the whole point!

If he just does it in 2 months, then he's just being lazy and will get killed.

Was I the only one that saw Gray's busted up face? Diaz clearly doesn't have the impressive knockout power wee see in some other lightweights, but the punches seem pretty effective overall. I remember Clay covering up from them as well. Clearly, they hurt.

Nate's fine at lightweight, strength-wise. He'll only get stronger as he gets older too. I think he's making a big mistake to go up to 170 at this point.

So he's having trouble with wrestlers like Maynard and Guida and his solution is to move to another division stacked with wrestlers who are 20 lbs bigger than the ones he can't beat now?

Yeah, that'll work out fine.

he might just be saying this because of post-fight emotions, he obviously thinks he won that fight. give him some time to cool down and maybe someone will talk him out of it.

I think it's a good move for Nate, he just doesn't have any power at LW. Like some people have said though, he needs some time to bulk up properly. He should take some time off and then start at the bottom of the WW division or maybe go to a less stacked organization until he's up to strength.

I'm also not sure he'll be able to drop the weight to get to FW. He's too tall.

Personally, I'd love to see him try WW so I can watch his cocky ass get KTFO.
I'm sick of people saying Nate is to tall to put on any mass at LW or move to FW, Cory Hill has 4 inches on him, Diego Sanchez is 2 inches shorter, why does he have to be built like a twig like Hill, Nate could easily bulk up to a similiar build to what Ken Flo has and still make 155.

This is stupid, he looks like a FW in there against Maynard and he wants to move up?, I saw the title and though finally he realizes he is to weak for LW, no I underestimated a Diaz's lack of intelligence. Sure let him fight at WW, give him Paul Daly or Thiago Alves.

I cannot even imagine in my mind what Paul Daley would do to Nate Diaz...

I suppose he could "train" with Overeem. Hell, he would be able to fight at LHW in couple years then. :P

Haha, priceless.

I love Nate's fights as its very rare to see him in boring one, but he should stop being an idiot like his brother when it comes to interviews, trashtalk and in general the way he acts.
Just because Nick got fired, went to strikeforce and is able to move around weight classes beating low tier competion left and right it doesn't mean Nate should try it too, specially in UFC. Im looking forward to see Hendo slap some sense into Nick, and I wouldn't mind seeing one of the top 10 WWs doing the same to Nate at ufc.

I would love to see Nate vs. Alves, because with Nate's frame I could see him getting split in half after first body kick Alves lands. Hell even a slammy takedown from Hughes would prolly daze him even though those haven't been as explosive as they used to be back during his championship era.
