Daley would kill Hardy off anyways. We are talking two levels of boxing that are lightyears from eachother.

Here's an example..

GSP VS Hardy.... GSP basically wins this fight with GNP but don't count him out on the feet either, he's definatly competent when it comes to striking.

GSP VS Daley.... GSP better take this to the ground very, very fast.

Why do people compare MMA to football or basketball? In those sports you don't seek to knock your oponent out. It's as simple as that, I don't care that MMA is a sport, if you had just fought your friend and he was Bisping style KOd on the mat you think you'd be saying the same then? It's very easy for us to sit here and say they should fight and that we would etc, but I bet you'd all think different if you were one of the 2 in question.

Yes it's a sport, well done for pointing that out, but it's a combat sport and you wouldn't catch me getting in with my best mate and looking to knock him out cold. If boxers do it, do guys who've trained at the same gym for years box each other? I'm not sure what the difference is and why boxers would think differently, does boxing have a lower KO ratio or something?

I agree that it's frustrating as a fan, of course I do. But I understand that 2 friends don't want to engage in combat with each other, it's so different to a bunch of men kicking a ball around a field or bouncing a ball around a court.

I don't know what the solution is though.

It isn't that different. In football or hockey part of the game includes hitting your opponent hard enough to hurt them. In hockey fighting is still considered a strategic part to the game. A team losing a game will have one of their guys go out and pick a fight for no other reason than to "spark" the team. The guys who do that are often friends.

Matthew Barnaby and Rob Ray were on Off the Record fairly recently talking about what good friends they were and the fights (multiple) that they had in the NHL. Keith and Wayne Primeau were brothers (duh) and fought each other in the NHL.

Those guys recognize what some MMA fighters (and fans) don't: namely that if it is part of your job there is nothing personal in it and no reason not to do it or hold it against one another. Professionals understand that.

sorry but football and hockey are very different from mma. sure you hit people in football but you never want to intentionally injure people. everyone loves a good hit but the best ones are the ones that sound good, look good, and see both competitors get back up and jog off the field.

ive never played hockey, but im sure they teach how to check and hit people properly to avoid injuries..

in mma most fights end with a guy ending up in a somewhat concusion like state-big differnce IMO and a good reason to avoid fighting a friend and unintentionally shortening his career. But then again thats just how i look at it.

The point is in the NFL or NHL you arn't fighting a guy on YOUR team, These guys are training together for their fights, and if they where going to fight each other who decides which guy gets to stay and train at the gym and who has to leave and find new coaches and a new gym. It ends up being a disadvantage to the guy who leaves.

A fight isn't considered a team sport, but think of it this way. Your team helps you train they push you hard, and kick your ass so that come fight time you're at the top of your game. "You win as a team and you lose as a team." Trust me all fight teams feel this way, ask the guys in Lauzons gym that, they said that on the way back to our hotel room after UFC 108.

When one of your teammates wins the whole team feels great knowing they helped get him the W, and if the lose they feel bad knowing they should've done more to help push them harder.

Daley/Hardy would only be interesting to me if Daley knocked Hardy smooth the **** out. I think Hardy is a douchebag and don't know how he has any friends.

He's a human and I'm sure he's rather easy to get along with away from the camera's.

If my best friend and I were each offered 100k+ a piece to fight five five minute MMA rounds for a belt, we'd be more than happy to do it.
