Why no..........did that fight ever end up happening?? I totally missed it.

Oh wait. Was Joe Rogan getting a lot of random boners over one fighter? I think I saw that.

But what you're failing to recognize is that Mir obviously had an ear infection and a canker sore during the fight as well

This thread continues to make mountains of examples of why Mir is not overhyped. Every fight he wins seems to have an asterisk next to it. The win over Carwin will be the same.

Good post and good points. I've been a Mir fan for a long time and honestly I don't really have a reason why unlike my other favorite fighters like Kid or BJ or Karo. I don't know what it is about Mir but I always find myself rooting for him. I agree that his skills are over-embelleshed by most, but I think Mir has what it takes to be the best, he's just too inconsistent. Maybe eventually he'll live up to his hype without question, but as of right now I do agree he is over-hyped by a good amount of fans.

Lesnar has dominated 95% of their time in the Octagon.
People say that for a good reason. Brock stated post-fight "I saw tweety bird for a second" which means he was momentarily dazed from that exchange/knee.

He hit me with a knee, and I ain't lying, I saw tweety bird for a second but that was all.

It sounds to me that you're just trying to discredit Frank's wins in a rather biased manner.

Im aware Mir's disliked on this forum but you cant deny that he's a top 5 HW. And he can take that belt from Brock if he works on his TDD and strength (which he is atm).

People say Mir/Big Nog was a fluke but heck, Im not sure I'd pick Nog if they were to fight a 2nd time

I don't think so.

Mir is a top heavyweight but he has weaknesses, which everyone has pointed out. I don't think any has really said he's going to dominate, so the original message of the thread is pointless. Other than Brock, I can't see any HW dominating.

Mir - Tooled Nog and Kongo standing up but Brock is clearly his kryptonite.

JDS - he has the potential to KO his way to the title, so long as a wrestler doesn't take him down and control him. If he became champ, a wrestler would soon do this.

Valesquez - Can be neutralised by the bigger versions of him.

Big Nog - Could get dominated by wrestlers and regardless of illness, got his ass completely handed to him by Mir. Beating Randy was good but Randy couldn't deal with the monsters of the division today. Nog still has some proving to do, his fight against Cain will show a lot.

Carwin - In my opinion the most overrated of the lot, especially in terms of standup. Very heavy hands but could be on the receiving end if he boxes with someone like Nog. I think Mir will beat Carwin.

Lesnar - the only one I can see dominating.

After Lesnar the division is wide open.

How does Nog have better wrestling than Couture Khov?

Because he (BJJ) swept him a couple of times on the ground?
